Morgans are very nice coins. I just picked up a 1884 CC MS 64 in goverment holder and a 1878 S MS 64; both coins cost me under 200.

Here one of my Buddy Better date Vams,here sold me. It bad that after working 35yr for New State there state retirement medical Ins has him pay 50% for his chemo treatments if he lives.

What does the label mean? Not worthy of a grade but still wanted it in a slab? How would this happen?

 

I dont remember what problem the 98 code stands for, I think altered surfaces.

 

But they still slabbed it?

• 93 Planchet (Coin Blank) Flaw
• 94 Altered Surface
• 95 Scratched or Rim Dented
• 97 Environmentally Damaged
• 98 Other Damage

Yes now they will slab coins that are damaged from all sort of things and put stuff like "genuine" or "details" to let you know that it's not getting a grade but it is a real coin.
