Love it! Do you think PCGS might slab it as "unassembled?"

    Thanks jello!

I've been looking for a nice Barber Half at a good price for over a year. When I saw this toned Barber, I just had to have it. I thought the red color was very intesting and the coin has a lot of luster. Plus I got it at an AU price, so that was great.

The Morgan color was striking -- I suppose this is what happens when it doesnt get dipped during it's life.

Here are a few newp's from the Santa Clara show. Attendance was just average...lighter than 5 years ago. But many very fine dealers with lots of pretty coins. The bullion dealers were busy!

This was the coin you requested to see. To all others, I picked this proof up at the Chicago International Coin Show this past weekend. In two days I have covered my cost+ at today's Silver spot price.

Kind of you to say. Thank you.

I have been looking for that T$ for almost 3 years. My heart stopped when I saw the luster and, like a poker player, I was worried the dealer read me. LOL. I have a proof '78 companion that is pretty interesting. I'll post it if requested but I don't want to be a hog.

Lance, dear fellow, be a "hog". We'd love to see it, and no, you're not being a "hog". :)

    Sam,

Nice coin and nice pic as well. It seems that you have photographic talent as well as an ability to find good coins. Yeah, the rising markets have made every bullion type coin into a good deal very quickly. Hope we do well on our ATB sets.

Holy cow, 900fine! That is a superb New Orleans reverse. Just gorgeous! Can we see the other side?

Here's the proof T$ I mentioned. Thanks for letting me show some of my sets.

Lance, if you wouldn't mind sharing, what's the grade on this Trade? Nice pickup!

It reads .900 fine on the reverse. I find that highly suspect........:)

Hi Oval_man. Thanks, no problem sharing. I don't have any really special secrets. :(

It's an MS61. That's a funny grade, isn't it? You almost never see it. 60's and 61's are usually full of luster and wear-free but baggy as heck. Dogs, often. But sometimes you get lucky. Here's another 61, a proof, that isn't all beat up.
    Lance.

nice proof barber! i love the color.

question on this coin ... around the date there is a pattern where it appears the toning "flaked off" with sort of jagged edges of silver to toned color. i thought toning was a chemical reaction with the silver and cannont flake off. if that is true, what might have caused this jagged border of untoned silver. (i am always interested in learning)
