So, I went to the bank and picked up $56 in nickels and $25 in pennies

Nickels didn't get any war nickels but got some 40's and 50's in there

Pennies, I'm not done with them yet, but they were all CWR and it seemed to be going pretty bad 2 wheats (both 50's) and that was about it, one roll actually only had 45 pennies in it (however the very next roll made up for it with a dime) then about half way through I found a 1999 WAM (I think) http://www.cointalk.com/t169161/

Aggie, those are some great finds! I especially like the 63 Walkers! I've always loved Walkers and that is why I got into CRH to begin with, find Walkers at face to fill out my book.

I know what you mean about gas and time. I'm starting to slow down on going bank to bank and focusing on boxes for the most part.

Ha thats funny, I have yet to find a bank that will get me boxes! I only get bags now, I got a $100 bag o nickels today and pulled a 39-D and many pre 62. I get $100-$200 bags of Nickels as often as i can. The bank that gets them and saves them for me all come from their coin machine. I find everything from quarters to cents in these bags. Boy are these machines bad at their job!!!

I've only found one bank out of all the hundreds I've been to that will sell me bags. Tough to find, but remember, it can never hurt to ask.

Just 37 more until my next roll is done... maybe by July if I go hard enough... more than likely, August. Nickels are not as fun as cents and just as much work.

Quick question. On the '76 halves are the only silvers the proofs?? This one sure has the look and "feel". Out hitting banks so I don't have a scale woth me. 1976 no mint mark.

If it's a Philly, it's highly improbable that it would be silver. The silvers known are all from Denver... San Francisco would sometimes reject planchets for using on proofs and mint sets, and those planchets would be sent to Denver. Occasionally, a silver planchet would slip in there, and that would end up on a circulation struck Denver coin. None of those planchets were shipped to Philly, so if one was made in Philly, it was done intentionally by a mint employee.

Given all that, I restate my opinion that I doubt it is silver.

Okay quite a day for me, well running around wise.

    1 $500 box = skunk
    $235.50 loose = skunk

I hit up 20 banks total. Here is the break down:

    1 bank had $500 box + $4 loose
4 banks had only 1 half dollar
    1 bank had $23 loose
1 bank had $200 in bags
    1 bank had $3
    1 bank had $3.50
11 banks had nothing at all

So 45% of the time I found atleast 1 half.
The bank that had the box was very happy to give me the box, they said somebody ordered it a long time ago but never came for it.
They also said I could order a box if I wanted, so should have one coming next Thursday. I don't have an account with them. So hopefully
that is not a problem. I'm looking to sign up with them though if they will let me order a box/week. They were very freindly. Also stopped
by 2 BOA branches that were willing to order for me provided I have an account. So I might signup there too. I'm done with 5th Third, most
branches in my experience are dicks, and none of them are willing to order.

LOL about the $200 bags, I found out that they were some other searchers dumps. Not really that surprising. But was really hoping that
it was all $200 from general public...somebody dumping grandpas coins...haha.

Well just got skunked on a box of dimes and about to get skunked on my second box of nickels in a row. Really beginning to seem like a waste of time...

I hear that!! This is like an addiction though. All it takes is one piece of silver and you're hooked again! Lol

I got to the bank just as they were closing today and managed to get a box of dimes. My daughter said "let me help you!" Her second roll she found two 64s! Of course, in the rest of the box, I found nothing. But oh well. 2 is better than none.

I got my first ever box of cents last night. It was a pretty boing box, only about 10 wheats, and the oldest was a '46. Atleast I now have one roll of wheats I found from circulation. One thing that I found very odd was the copper content. 64%!!!!! There was exactly 1,600 copper cents in one box. I just need to find some place to sell them. Any ideas?

Kinda annoyed, the bank I get the bulk of my boxed coin said that they will be charging me $7.50 per box!!! Since that is absolutely ridiculous I closed my account, I will be looking for a new bank to order me coins on Monday.

Did 2 boxes of dimes got 2 silvers 1 in each

Done 4 boxes of halves with no luck.. Had 5 rolls of halves from a recent trip to AL yield 3 40%.. Things have been slow lately. Now that work has started back up things are going to be VERY slow..
