    Silver 1776-1966 Kennedy Half Dollar

I collect silver and this one looks weird to me. It doesnt look like other silvers... The rim is all white, no copper but the shine of it is more plasticy.

Post a photo. There were some 40% silver bicentennial half dollars minted for mint sets...but its not rare for a clad coin to have nickel around the rim with no copper visible.

Silver maybe. Maybe chrome, or even just another nickel layer. Probably in hopes of making it look nicer than it actually was.

From your pics that looks like a business strike, not a proof, and as such does not contain any silver as the Mint did not use silver in business strike halves after 1970.

It looks like it's been plated with silver, or some other material to give it the appearance of a silver clad coin, which it isn't.

I can't tell from the picture if it is a D or an S.
