I just went through a box of halves. While doing so I was pitching some 95s and came to a stop. It occured to me that the last two I tossed had the exact same scratch on them. BTW, there are a LOT of 95s in these rolls. Upon further investigation I realized it wasn't a scratch, but raised. A die crack in fact. I pulled 55 of them from this particular box.

I have set aside some 96s that appear to have a very similar crack, but I havent checked them closely yet.

Here is one of the 95s:

OK, after going thrugh them again much more carefully, 3 of them are a different die crack. I have 47 that are all exactly the same as pictured above. These three are clearly not a scratch, and they are exactly the same between themselves. These three the crack runs a lot closer to the first 9:

So, I am looking at two distinct die cracks on the same series. Any other folks out there seen these?

Are you searching original uncirculated rolls? If so, it not uncommon at all to find multiple coins from the same die pair(s).

And while I appreciate the best of intentions behind this, the information in that thread is patently false.

No, these are circulated rolls. I'm not so surprised about finding 47 of the same, my surprise is that I am seeing 2 distinctly different die cracks here.

In mid to late die stages, die cracks are very common.

I just bought a 95 Kennedy at the flee market with the same die cracks! What value would you put on it?
