I thought we need an updated/more specific thread so... post your silver roll bounty here! Out of $200 halves: 6- 40ers!
Looked through a box of $500 . . . no 40%, no 90%, only two in better condition than what I already had. Wish I had that 90 minutes of my life back.
This one, from a month ago, got lost in the other thread: Had to wait 10 minutes or so for the drive-through teller to fish out her halves -- "I've got THREE rolls! But you don't have to buy all of them." No, that's okay, I'll be a good sport and take all three. 4 clad 2 Franklin 5 1964 49 40%
two weeks ago, I got 5 rolls from my bank and 3 rolls were 1964- 1968s and 6 loose 1965s being 18, and not having a job... I sold them $5 a pop. made $320 out of about $32.
I am more into reading about silver finds than general finds so I like the idea of this thread. Merc, if you have nothing nice to say simply say nothing or di not participate.
Bumping your own topic so much that you have the last three posts in it kinda makes you seem desperate for attention. And to answer your question, silver ikes are common. Rare in circulation, but common, numismatically.
I got lucky. I just acquired $1500 in halves and $1000 in dollars from a relative who runs a restaurant. He has been separating coin dollars and halves from his receipts for 10 years so as not to confuse his customers when he gives out change. I got 11x64 Kennedy halves but only 1 Peace. Still have a couple hundred SBA and Sacs that I don't know what to do but as these are not silver they are not relevant to this thread
Nice job Asuphiphi! I am thinking about purchasing a box on Nickels myself! I like to see some luck come from those who search nickels! However, I wonder if Dimes are more worth while? Also, what year/MM was the Buffalo and War Nickels?
I mostly search half dollars, but lately there aren't many so I have switched to nickels as my second favorite and dimes as my third. Quarters suck. Dimes are almost as rare as quarters. I enjoy nickels because I find more of them in my opinion. The year for the war nickels are all 1943 and the mint mark is "S". The buffalo nickel has no date... :/
