I know the feeling. I just started to do this (not sure why I never thought of it) and I go out every lunch hour and scan places I go, even gas stations. My wife is even into it (she usually doesn't take on any hobby at all). She was excited to know we had some rolls of quarters to go through! hahahaha...good luck this weekend!!

Turns out the '45 Merc I found was an upgrade from an existing coin in my set, nice. The '42-D filled a hole which means I now have every Merc from '40 and later, all found in rolls.

6 boxes of halves this past weekend and only got 5 40%ers. All 5 came from one box and one roll had 4 40%ers in it, how does that happen???

Got off work a bit early and called around to find some halves. Well all 4 banks had halves: 4 40%ers at the first out of 2 rolls, 16 40%ers and 1 64 at the 2nd out of 3 rolls and 7 40%ers at the third (loose) and 1 Franklin at the last (loose) I also pulled 4 silver roos out of a box too!!!!!:thumb:

I'm thinking im going to start calling around instead of driving, too much in gas! Do they actually give you the time of day to check the vault? They seem frustrated when I ask in person!

    Nice finds everyone!

I usually call around myself to cut down on drive time but be careful of doing that. I spoke with a teller one day who said she didn't have any halves and for some reason or another I stopped by the same bank later and asked anyways, turns out that particular teller didn't have any but, the vault manager had 30 rolls.

One of my penny bags netted me (92) Wheaties. That's the second most I have ever had(141/box-best). There were not any old ones, the best was a 1930-D in EX. Fine.

Didn't Roll Search But something better happened

I was at a local Casino, and a Lady had 100 Euros and offered to trade for 100 USD :thumb:

But I have some halves coming Wednesday. Wish me luck!

One box of dimes, 1 silver... I knew about 3/4's of the rolls were gonna be skunks when I saw them... stupid company keeps the silver for itself... thankfully, they're the only company conducting themselves in such a manner that I know of thus far.

    Merc (or anyone)

On average, how many wheats do you guys find in a box of cents? Was just wondering so I can see if my boxes are above/below average. I haven't completed a box yet bit have about 7 in 18$ worth of rolls.

Don't know which company, but I noticed that Citizens uses them, and I'm starting to see them at some Wells Fargo branches too. They're lighter cardboard colored rolls that are kind of... papery for lack of a better term. They were machine wrapped... only silver I've ever managed to find in those rolls was a Canadian, which is only 80% silver and therefore, lighter than a 90% silver dime.

I used to average like, 8-12, but my average has gone way up lately for some reason... the past few weeks, I've been averaging more like 15-20 per box.

My first box of cents netted 103 wheats, the next 2 boxes contained absolutely 0 wheats. :( Nothing older than '66 in either box today, I was pretty bummed.
