I got this in an email and thought it was eerie...

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head.

    Now it gets really weird.

Lincoln 's secretary was named Kennedy.
    Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln.

    Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat.

Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford'.
Kennedy was shot in a car called ' Lincoln ' made by 'Ford'.

Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

    And here's the kicker...

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe , Maryland
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

This is old. It's been circulating on the internet for over 5 or so years now. Kind of interesting though isn't it? I first read that on an alternative news site.

I first saw it in the early 80's. It was printed in the Washington Post long before the days of the internet.

I guess old is relative. I first remember seeing something like this when I was in 4th grade - in 1964.

Well I had no idea it was that old, and I used the 5 year time span as to when I about first read it. I'm almost 40 if that counts lol.

It appears I was the only that hadn't seen this ;)

I feel like the guy who chimes in with, "The first black President was elected into office!"

    Shouldnt the last read:
A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe , Maryland
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was in Marilyn Monroe.

This appears on the original paper the Lincoln/Kennedy cent came attached to as well.

But the last one can't be correct because Marylin Monroe died on August 5th, 1962. More than a year before Kennedy was assassinated.

i had a plaque with that on it, with a 1969 kennedy half and a lincoln penny, the half was struck through grease and the penny has a nice rainbow tone on it, i pulled them out and put new coins inside and gave it to a friend because i got her into coin collecting too :D

I have heard this before, and two of these are still debated:
