I haven't seen many old nickels, 1938 etc. I was wondering if they are worth anything much, i found some circulated ones I have : 1938 no mint 2 1939 -D and no mint 3 1940 no mint 2 1941 no mint 1942 no mint
the 39-Ds are a good find. It is considered the key date to the Jefferson Nickel series. The Philadelphia mint coins are not generally that hard to come by. The 38 D and S and the 39 D and S are the keys with the 39-D being THE key. Another one that's a good find is a 42-D in nice unc. There are lots of unc 42-Ds, but most don't look very good.
check completed auctions on eBay. you can find real world prices for anything that sells there, not price guide prices
you mean the latest, I presume and I wouldn't save anything except for: 1)war nickels 2)1938-D 3)1838-S 4)1939-D 5)1939-S that's pretty much it unless they are in unc, and even then maybe not. There's no premium for any of the dates. They are all pretty much available. Even the 38s and 39s are just scarce, not really rare
