I have 9 rolls of Andrew Johnson Presidential Coin Rolls and one roll of James Madison. I was wondering if they would be worth keeping and if so, in the original rolls from the PA mint? OR should I open them up, and look for errors and re-roll them? Would they still be considered uncirculated even though I opened them and rerolled them? And also, would it be worth more in an unopened roll?
many have wondered the same thing in the past but this is an opinion of mine but others might see it different. it always depends on how long you would want to keep them. Just look at rolls of 1983 quarters, who would ever think that back in the early 80's that those quarters would be worth alot more. with the Pres dollars it seems that more people are keeping them than spending the dollar coins. The one roll that seems to be worth more is Harrison for some unknown reason ? I think it might have to do with the Mint not making enough premium rolls. So other factors make some rolls worth more than others. With your 2 type of rolls you have ...anyone can get them today for face value from the US Mint direct ship program. with opening them or not..i would prefer them unopened instead of having someone else opening them, plus having at least one end have a heads side. If they are both tails end, i would open them up and spend them. Snowman
