Ok folks I was going to wait to let you know what the coin really is but I'll go ahead and tell you. this is a well known error and I set a trap with it to just prove how most of you on here hollers PMD on every coin put on here. I even saw on another thread where someone possibly a teenager called a extremely valuable and well know error coin PMD. It was on the thread titled PENNY/DIME . the owner of this beauty even has perfect photos on that thread.

IT would have been horrible if the owner of that awesom coin threw it away because of this. We need to stop hollering PMD about everything .

Now for all of you that called this coin on this thread PMD go wipe that egg off your face because my photos is good enough to easy see this. Mike was the first one that got it right and I applaud him for being the winner.

After a die cap remains stuck to a coin die for too many strikes the copper is soft and it starts to wear away and fall off in tiny pieces. before long the capped die coin will be almost toally worn off the die and the die will become almost clean again. all that will be left of the coin that had the die covered will be just a round ring along the edge of it. these ring shaped pieces are usually on Ebay for sell but I don't want one of them. Sorry CPM these are just too minor for me plus I already have too many clashed die coins. If you can find some that have the memoral building visible going all the way across Lincoln's neck that are not fake I would be interested. Would you be interested in some golden dollar coins with libertys crown on the obverse and the president on the reverse. check out maddieclashes.com and you can see a photo of one of them.

    Rascal,
The reason for everyone saying what they did in this thread had nothing to do with the coin posted, in fact most of them didn't even look at the pics. The problem in this case is that you have so alienated them all that they really don't care any more. This coin is not PMd but the previous one that you argued so strongly about IS PMD and because of that argueing people don't want to try to make a realistic comment about anything you post.

I mean this as constructive criticism. If you alienate everyone then, even if you have something to say, people aren't going to be willing to listen.

Richard I did this thread to just prove my point about you folks on here hollering PMD no matter what someone shows on here and proved my point. enough said. I'm not the one trying to aleniate anyone , take a better look and you can easily see the ones that are doing this. If any of you don't like my coin then you should not be replying to my posts and trying to down me over the coin. Troy W.

I wouldn't have sold them to you anyway. I like to give them out as gifts. I just wanted to see what you'd say. I'm not interested in buying someone else's errors. I like to find them for myself. Like these below.

    Troy,
As i said, I meant what I said as CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. You don't need to TRY to alienate anyone. In the other thread you started the post with an attitude of "I dare you to call this PMD" and people did. That doesn't change the fact that that coin is indeed PMD. This one, as has been pointed out is not PMD, however everything from the title to the photos to the posting appear to be aimed at getting a specific response. If you post in a forum, you cannot restrict who will respond, if you push buttons you will get responses.

Here's some constructive criticism: The word is "unusual" not "unusal". OK? I can't take it anymore.

Good looking coins CPM congrats on being able to find them yourself. Just about all of my coins I own were found by me and I'm just like you about buying coins from someone else. I do have a few I bought from coin stores and off Ebay. That old buffalo nickel you have there sure looks funny. It looks like it's face and front legs is falling off from that lamination problem. Is it just me or does this bottom part look to be a brighter color ?

You're fighting a losing battle, and it isn't just on this thread. There are a lot of people who should activate their "Spell Check". If I had a penny for every misspelled word I've seen, I could buy a complete set of Morgan dollars in MS65, and that includes all of the VAM's.

Your coin is still worth face value no matter what so this doesn't even make sense....

The error Merc Crazy posted is a Wide AM. The spacing between the A and M in AMERICA is wider than usual for that date. This is an error because this coin's reverse was struck by a die intended for Proof coins and not circulation coins. The Wide AM reverse was changed over to a Close AM in 1993. From then on the Wide AM was reserved for Proof coins. This happened at the mint when it was struck, making it a true error.

    Some uotes before I comment,

I do not like this method of posting a "trap" in order to try and prove anything personal!! NOT AT ALL. If you are setting a trap, such as it having been evaluated previously, STATE THAT! This is not "Lie to Me". This is a learning environment, not a " Lets make people look bad". SO no more of this !!

Ziggy 9 is right on with his comment. Please take it as constructive criticism as intended.

The egg on the face quote does not reflect as much on other opinions as it does on your attitude
towards those who unknowingly play into your game.

Lastly, I do not read Mike Diamond's response as a overwhelming answer, and for all we know, you just threw your part in because you wouldn't go against him.

I am not attacking you personally as much as I am attacking the way that you misled those on the board.I strongly suggest you use more consideration in posting similar threads in similar methodology.

Some of the other posters could also be criticized for continuing along rather than just ignore and move on. It takes more strength to not give in to such charades than to do so. Ignore it and move to a better thread.

    Geezzzz!

I know all about the 92 and 93 and 99 cent coins . From the photo the coin looks like a normal close AM this is why I asked for a close up of the AM. Then again maybe the owner thinks it is a proof coin with the close AM and I'm not going out on a limb and saying it is not. Either way I'm not interested in it. I'm wanting a 92 P mint close AM for my collection and never could be able to fine one but still looking.

First of all this post was not directed to you. I was trying to help out a newer collector that was unfamiliar with this error, as you should have seen from the quote in my post. Second of all if you would move your mouse on the picture and click it a few times you can see the picture he posted is actually quite large and you can clearly see the Wide AM...
