I went against my judment and bought one of those "unsearched rolls on ebay" lol yeah right. And I found this in there, This peice and the fact that the roll was a little loose on one ends makes me believe that it was searched and if it was searched then clearly this is fake, but i have no clue. And also it looks way to new.

I dont know the weight couldnt find it online, but it weighs, note my scale is off by 1-2 grams, 1.8g and 0.065 Oz

    Please help :p

Just be aware that people can purchase the tool to make the ends of the rolls almost look like they were done by a bank. N.F. String and Sons makes one:

Thanks for that, I just wanted to see what the hype was about on these unsearched rolls, Good thing i only paid 9 bucks for it, I learned my lesson :)

What's sad is that there are some good deals on wrappers; but when these guys have an endless supply of "un-searched rolls", I become suspect. I just got a roll with nothing newer than 1923, had 1 FEC and 16 IHC in it.

Just out of curiosity, what else was in the roll?

Modern fake. I doubt there is a speck of gold in it. Because the piece does not have the word 'DOLLAR', 'DOL.', 'D.', etc., I would place it in the category of token, souvenir or charm.

I talked to the seller and he said that they put those in there as a bonus and there is some gold in it, which pretty much says they are searched lol, And nothing it was just about a wheat pennies 40's-50's with a couple idh's

    True.

In addition, none of the Period 1 pieces (1852 - 1857) had the Indian chief motif; those came much later, long after the San Francisco mint satisfied the need for small change. After 1857, most of the California Fractional coins were made as trinkets or souvenirs.

Yes it's fake but why would you post neg feedback? You knew the risk and even said it before that you went against your better judgment.

Because he said it was searched, he told me himself he put the fake gold peice in the middle of the roll which cearly means they were searched, Indian heads on both ends but nothing but 40's and 50's wheats, Its not hard to tell.

I agree with you, he admitted it was a searched roll. I would leave negative feedback and state that he admitted it was searched by saying he added a coin to the middle.

I know you knew better...but still. He clearly admitted his lie.

Camaro he posted the negative feedback remark before he knew that. And based it on that he got nothing good.

Well, then that's different. I must have mis-read. Based on what has unfolded...I would consider negative feedback, but not because there was nothing in the roll.

I could care less that there is nothing good in the rolld consideringit was 9 bucks, The fact that he said they were unsearched when he put a fake gold peice in the middle of the roll which proves they were searched is why i left neg feedback.

The sad thing is that these people sell so many rolls that a few negative feedback posts rarely impact their business.

"I do think he protest's to much"

That was posted 4 min after the post above it where 900fine said the indian was fake. THEN over 3 hours later after you spoke with the seller you posted about him searching them. Thus you were posting neg BEFORE you knew about the "searching" which I still say you knew they did and you bought anyway.

I hate those ebay sales of "unsearched" rolls as much as anyone. And don't sell on ebay but when a growup decided to buy something and has buyers remorse after getting what they expected in the first place makes me just want to point it out.
I have nothing against you either Camreno and as being such this is my last post in this thread. I wish you luck out there and hope you think twice before you buy those "unsearched" lots.
