These 2 showed up a few days ago. I really like the stylized (art deco) Crown. The other is a colonial period Mexican 1 Reale.:p

1834 Capped Bust LG date RARE (Obverse).jpg 1834 Capped Bust LG date RARE (Reverse).jpg This is the newest member to my half dollar collection. I apologize as this is taken from the ebayer that I bought it from. I will take my own photos of it when it arrives. I paid less than 100. for it. This is my first Capped Bust. I' excited to get it as you can imagine. Also I'm new here but have been collecting for 20 years on and off. Thank you for having me aboard!

Just bought this on ebay last night for $142. I liked the toning quite a bit, also it's cool that it's the first year of the Morgan Dollar issue. I was always amazed at how many different Morgan varieties there were in 1878.

UPDATE. I did this the other night and I freaking LOVE IT!. I really like having the album so I can see all the ATB quarters in one spot. Plus I think they look so much better out from behind the plastic case. I've got my hammer all ready for the the 2011 set. :)

I'm going to find a dansco album for the state quarters and break my silver proof sets of those open as well.

I meant to respond yesterday Clay. I get distracted real easy. :) It took me the longest time to crack out proofs. I was taught that doing so was a sacrilege. Now I do it all the time.

lol..... it seems that the only way I find CT members on ebay is by shotgunning mass bidding binges . I finally found Thads. :)

Much against my better judgement I got this one from GSC.. It has more color than this image depicts, nice coin, paid too much for it though.

    Pretty cool pennies...

I got this pile of "junk" Barbers recently... fun to go through them for sure. And silver going up a couple of dollars since I got them doesn't hurt either :)

I periodically tell myself to buy "lots" of junk silver to help finish the partial sets I have and never get around to it. one of these days maybe I'll make a list and post it to get those holes filled. I'm not interested in quality coins per se. I can always upgrade later. I just would like the sets to be complete.

any ideas of the easiest quickest way to do that? Maybe at a coin show with someone with a huge raw inventory of junk?

Well, I know this isn't anything spectacular, but since the invitation was to post the newest acquisitions I thought I would share. I bought a lot on Ebay to dabble into Memorial cents. Got most of the business strikes and 12 proofs, so not a bad starter set to learn from. Coins advertised as "BU." I'm nowhere near proficient in grading the cents, but there's a couple I would doubt as being "BU," but looking through the lot helps train the eyes quite a bit. Since it would be stupid to post 134 coins I thought I would post the first, last, and one proof. Enjoy.
