Just arrived today. I've been looking for a pair of these for over a year. The prices for CH-CU notes are insane, and GEM examples are off the charts.
Great pick-up's Steve... the "R" and "S" notes are really pretty cool. I have seen many nice notes in this thread and wanted to send my congrats to everyone on their addidions. If that Series 1928 New York $10 Numeral was in Gem..I would be courting you more than a boy scout in a gypsy camp. RickieB
Oh, you're making me very jealous now!!! I've been wanting a set for a while and you're absolutely correct - the prices are up there.... I'll likely have to get them one at a time but someday I'll have me a set! Until then, I'll look at this pair! Congrats!
Nice experimentals Steve! I've also been looking at acquiring nice examples of those and they are ridiculous right now. What grade category do these notes fall in?
Thanks everybody. I don't plan to have them graded anytime soon, and the paper is fully original, CH-CU, and they look to have 64 centering and exceptional paper quality. There are several nice examples up for auction at the Heritage Rosemont CSNS Signature Currency Auction.
Great notes Steve. I hope to find a pair in that grade sometime soon. Most are in VF around here though.
An addition to my collection - had a few impulse buys over the past couple of weeks - I really need to focus on the $1 Type Collection... I couldn't resist this one though... A few more additions coming soon - come on USPS!
GREAT centering on the Deuce SemperFiSilver....and just to give everybody a perspective of how nice your note is, I'll show you a deuce at the other end of the uncirculated spectrum.
$2 1928g - Here's another $2 note I picked up (missed the mailman today, but tomorrow I'll be saying "the eagle has landed" - stayed tuned!!!!).
