Is this ICG slab a counterfeit? The obverse and reverse labels looks like photocopies. The ICG sticker looks fake. clyde
Slab counterfeiters use real cert #'s for coins that match up... IE; a fake slab of a '93-S Morgan will have a cert # of a real '93-S.
Not sure what you see about that that makes you think its fake. Your second pics are too fuzzy to see much, but there is no reason I can think of to go to the effort of counterfeiting a slab for a Con quarter.
i doubt someone would go through the trouble of counterfeiting a slab for a 1999 quarter. you should be good
I would have doubted someone would have gone through the trouble of SLABBING a 1999 quarter... but to the original poster, the slab looks like every ICG slab I've dealt with. The stickers all have that strange "fake" look... like someone glued it on to the paper. It's one reason I stopped buying ICG.
Hey, thanks everybody for your replies! What looked funny to me was the label's newspaper-dot-like graphics. I now know it's OK. I like this forum! Thanks again, clyde
If there is still any question that this coin is genuine here are some pics of one of mine. I actually happened to have a few of these too. It seems at that time ICG was using a lighter color of green labels. Our coins were probably certified in the same batch. Here are some close up pics of mine. Hope this helps!
