In the process of finding snow totals for all the cities. Some of the smaller ones is taking time. I am working on it though I promise!
Just go to post #4 to find the correct guesses! LOL > Seattle with 24 inches of snow, what was I thinking?
I wish it would snow here, not a single snowflake has ever hit. The only time I was in snow was when I vacationed in Colorado, it was pretty weird driving around with what I call "frozen powder" on the roads. Edit: The lowest recorded temperature (F) in Honolulu was 52 F.
Status update: I sincerely, sincerely, sincerely apologize for the delay in the conclusion of this contest. I had school up until Wednesday which has kept me busy but I did in fact have most of the cities. Unfortunately, a couple weeks ago my harddrive crashed and I lost EVERYTHING on it, including the 95% complete results I had. :/ It sucks. Then, the other day my brand-spankin-new hard drive decided to fail as well. Kind of making me mad as you can imagine. I will have the winner announced as soon as I can I promise. And once again I am very, very very sorry for the delay.
So. I'm sure some of you forgot about this contest but I, however, did not. I have spent countless hours trying to find data for some of these cities and unfortunately I have been completely unable to find snowfall totals. It was a might harder to do than I expected. So in an effort to ensure a winner, I am opening this contest for the next 12 hours. All you have to do is post how much snow you had last winter and I will enter you into a random number generator drawing. In fairness to those who participated in the original version, your names will be entered twice. The prize will be some assorted silver and maybe something else, not sure yet, it'll just be a surprise. So, until 12:00PM EDT on 7/14/11 post your snowfall total for last winter to enter the contest.
Didn't y'all get some flurries with the January 10 storm? I know it was huge and widespread. Montgomery got some flurries and I know some of the models had indicated you would too but I don't recall hearing if it happened.
i believe we received 32" here. it was a very snowy winter for this area. almost a foot more than normal.
Ok. So here's the breakdown of who had what number. 1. John H. 2.Coinman 1981 3.Shoewrecky 4.ryanbrooks 5.rlm's cents 6.tennismaster 7.ddoomm1 8.swish513 9.mikenoodle 10.coinman0456 11.elijahhenry10 12.slamster17 13.Coinman_Ben 14.zach24 15.Melina 16.Porsche2007 17.Numismania 18. John H. 19.Coinman 1981 20.Shoewrecky 21.ryanbrooks 22.rlm's cents 23.tennismaster 24.ddoomm1 25.swish513 26.mikenoodle 27.coinman0456 28.elijahhenry10 29.slamster17 30.Coinman_Ben The first 13 had two entries because they guessed in the first place. So, I used www.random.org and the number was 29 making slamster17 the winner. Congrats to slamster and thank all of you for participating in this contest. I apologize it did not go as planned and because of that there is one additional thing. Since this was a guessing thread to begin with I figured I would give out a special prize to the person guessing the closest to the amount of snow I had here at my house. We ended the season with a whopping 12" snow total (much higher than average) and the closest guesser to that was coinman0456. So, coinman0456 has won a special prize for his guess of 9". Slamster and coinman, PM me your addresses and I will get the prizes out ASAP. Thanks once again and be looking for another weather related contest in the future. Just as soon as I can come up with one.
