I have recently purchessed a lot of 34 Morgan dollors for $15 per coin!!! I found 6 Mint State coins and 3 rarer dates, one was a 1895-S in Ef-40!!!!
off of a very close friend and it was his fahters set that he was storing for years. They are all real and the prices are very high if i were to sell them.
no but i know it is aroung 43 oz of pure silver i also have another box filled with 55 oz of scrap pure silver.
Congratulations. I will assume you are associating the 43 oz. with more silver dollars, and Morgans than the 34 you first mentioned. You might look at www.coinflation.com for up to date value on the silver/base metal values only. Nice friends! - Welcome to Cointalk. You might enjoy the Coin Chat section of this forum too. That is the best place to attraction attention/feedback on general topics such as these. The bullion section will turn up a ton of kindered spirits for Morgans also.
If they were my friends' coins, I'd give him a better price, especially with better coins in the lot, I'd go at least melt to help him out.
I would _HATE_ to be your friend. Seriously? You scammed your buddy out of his Dad's coin collection? If he's really your friend, you should tell him about it and at least offer to split the final sale on the coins.
An 1895-S Morgan is a $1000 coin in EF. Sorry to be a skeptic, but I think I need pics to make this story believable.
I have some pic. on my other post: 1895-S Morgan Dollar the pics are not that clear but that is all i have for now, i have someone photographing the coin at this time.
I know i multiplied how many coins i had (53 morgan dollars) by how much pure silver was in the coin (.77344 oz of pure silver-redbook) and it totaled 40.99232 oz of pure silver. I also have 9 morgans that are certified by pcgs and ngc.
I'd like it if you'd stop bumping your threads asking for more grades of coins that have been graded as good as we're going to be able to do so until you get better pics. I hope you feel good about ripping your friend off.
My dads fried just wanted to get rid of the coins he wanted $3-8 each i offered him $15 and he took it in a heart beat. After i got them and looked through the dates i found the good ones (and later the 1895-s) He didnt care what he got for them he was just happy he could help with my collection.
honestly i woudlnt have been able to live with myself if i bought them for $15 a pop my friend is selling me some unsearched buffalo nickels, and if i find a 3 leg, im going to get it slabbed and we are going to share the profit, because thats what friends do
