I posted my Liberty Nickles before: Here's the THREAD. I sent them to NCS and I just got them back, I'll post results on Sunday after 9. So what do you think the slabs say?! Hint: They were different in a way that you can probably guess and the same in a way that surprised me.
Something is bothering me about those coins, but maybe it is just your pics. Rims and dentils look very sharp, and they are very well struck( notice the kernels of corn in wreath on rev). However where is the luster? I am thinking maybe over dipped proof, or really convincing counterfeits. For the amount of detail luster should be booming on those babies.
green18 guessed what surprised me, yes they're both proof (I thought they were high grade uncs peeking out through that haze). Mark14 guessed what separates them, one is improperly cleaned, but the other graded. Hard to tell which is which before NCS took the haze off. Any guesses on which graded what? I guess this is funner with something to win...
Can’t tell what is going on with those sharp rims, But judging from the photos only, I think their both fakes.
Nice Lib's, I've recently taken interest in Proof Lib Nickels, they are pretty nice in grades up through PR-64.
