Can you believe in this month's issue of The Numismatist that a 2005 $50 bill with Micky Mouse for some 50th anniversary sells for up to $800!?

In reality they go for a lot more than the "book" value - prices range from $1800-2400 or so if they are in PMG or PCGS holders.

Yea some high prices on the better ones is kind of suprising.

For the record, Disney has not printed new notes since the 2009 series. They no longer sell them in the Disney Stores and you can only get them at "Guest Services" at Disneyworld and Disneyland. When I was at Disneyworld in February I went to their guest services near the entrance of the park and patiently waited while they had to go "looking" for the Disney Dollars.

Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed in getting about 1/3rd of what I purchased had been circulated notes with folds etc and not many sequential serial numbers etc. But after their valiant search and helpfulness I wasn't going to refuse what they brought out and ended up taking even the circulated notes - I can give them to my kids on a future trip and just let them spend them.

These circulate as currency within the United States? Where's the counterfeit lawsuit?!

They can be used in Disney Stores and Disneyworld, Disneyland only.

Is there any kind of catalog for these Disney banknotes? I didn't realize how many denominations and varieties exist.

I actually like these bills, I never realized that they existed.

I'm working on my own; they can only be spent in lower Manhattan.

Hey guys and ladies, at least Disney is a profitable enterprise - cannot say the same for the US government. I have more faith in Disney Dollars and Mickey than I have in Federal Dollars and - - - -!

I had a bunch of those from my grandma back in the 1980's along with Geoffrey Dollars from Toys-R-Us. I ended up using the Geoffrey dollars (still crisp) around 2004 to buy a stupid game. Wish I had kept them a little longer.

I just want to complain that because of this thread I have purchased about 25 different Disney Dollar bills over the last few days. This site is costly! LOL...
