Yup. Me too..... Hey Jarhead. Ya meet up with any of the "guys" from this neck o' the woods at Charmys' table?
One one. The Penny Guy was there. Only the two of us showed at 11:30 as planned. Charmy said there were a few people that had been by earlier in the morning.
Oh yeah, the '11's have been out for about two months now (bullion). I just didn't want to pull the trigger on getting any till now. Usually I order a roll or two but not this year. Care to guess why?
Nah, it's just the danged high price o' silver. Last year I could pick 'em up for about $22 and change but this year it's in the $40 range. I just can't accept the fact that I've got to pay nearly double for something within one years time. Anyways, thanks for the comment on the halves Ripley.....
Your welcome Green. Its just that I placed an order with the mint in January for a single 2011 and they told me they were not coming out till later this year. But, there is yours. Yep I love those 50 cent silvers. Sometimes you can pick them up at Cu Ni prices. And they are nice to look at.
I finally did it. Sold my silver (from roll searching) and got a 1932 D Washington ANACS AU50 (as well as a 1914 S Barber Quarter, 1926 S Mercury Dime, and two 1945 S Mercury Micro S.) Ended up paying $300 for everything (if you include the face value of the silver halves.) Will post photos once I get some. My first true KEY...
Nice halves Greenie. Hey Hon, I went to the Bawlmer coin show today. picked up two of everything. Two modern halves. I have to say I really like the design on most of those modern halves.(Mt Rushmore and Civil War) Two $1 Dollar Commems. (Civil War and a San Fran Old Mint) Two Early commems. (Hudson and a Sesqui) Only 13 holes left in the album! Two books. The guide books of Commemorative Coins (David Bowers) I already have the large book by him but this is a nice compact version that has cool info on Modern commems as well. And I went ahead and bought a whitman slider album for the ATB quarters. I'm going to go ahead and break open a silver proof set and fill up this album. I know I might be breaking some cardinal rule about cracking open a proof set, but screw it. I would rather have them all in one album. I'll keep another set in its plastic prison for safekeeping. It was pretty cool going to the coin show. You can find just about everything there.
Warning ff-topic: Ripley you've got to send me some pointers on taking a decent picture. I'm not able to take one shot nearly as good as yours.
Clay, you should have seen the junky pictures I was putting out a year ago. I am flattered that you like them. I use my spouses camera (Cnnon SD-400) and a tripod with a 3 second delay, so I do not have to touch the camera. (no shakes)
