100 dollar bill question, sorry but need reply with in two hours!

At work today I was paid with a 1962 or 1963 A series 100 dollar bill. It was in good kinda crips condition. I was wondwering how much it may be worth. If more than 100 dollars I am going back before 9 to go pick it up. No way to tell if it is real or fake though. Does not have the clear plastic strip. So any information is helpful. If worth it I will go ASAP to get this money.

Sorry I'm 18 hours late, but it's worth a million bucks in my eyes-- the only old-style bill I'm missing from my "collection". Most OS bills are only worth face. The 1960's $100, maybe $115-$125. If you said you got paid with it, why did you say that you'll pick it up?

 

Too late now. Sorry I would have sold it to you. I am a cashier and was paid with it, but didnt have the cash on me to take it. The manager said he would hold it, but I was not sure on the value so I passed it up.

Today though I picked up a 1963 A one dollar star note in fair condition.

how nice is the one dollar bill? i'm a collector of all the old styles... just curious of it's condition

 

when i say old styles... i guess i used wrong terms there since the one dollar bill was never changed... i'm a collector of every year each bill was minted

I once passed on a red seal $100.00 that a teller was holding for me. My mind set was the same. I can't afford this to not be worth something. Later that week it came to me like a slap in the face!!! I could always put it in the bank for $100.00, what I paid for it!:headbang: Always buy money at face value. You will lose nothing.

I just said that because I know some people buy stuff on the forums I think. The old star note is not in the greatest condition. It has some writing on one side and a little flimsy, but for that year and being a single I would say excellent condition considering the 5s I get from 1999 are falling apart and some of them are so thin and worn they feel like they will rip as I count them.

I'm not really sure how to grade paper money though.

 

Sorry we all jumped in too late to help you out. Like others have said, if you can make the stretch, get it. Other than that, 1960's bills did not have the added security strip. Someone else can tell you the exact year, but I don't think those came into being until the late 80's early 90's.

 

I realize this is 11 years ago...lol...
