*Updated -With Pics * Todays bank find Went to the bank at lunch to cash in 500 singles and when the teller started counting out 20's I had seen an old 20 sitting at the bottom of the till.So I asked to have the one older tweenty and she said she had a few of them...Ended up leaving the bank with 500 in old 20's ..I have not looked at them yet but I did see the top 20 and it was series 1981 .Most are in real nice condition , no fold and crisp looking....I will look thru them in a little and post pics of the nice ones some time today... 1969 77 81 Thanks
Can't wait to see what you find. If possible scan the images to put in the post. That way we can get an idea for identification and value purposes.
Going to keep the 69 and 77 Is the 81 worth keeping also...Any added value to any of them at this time ???
Sorry, but I can't address the value of these. I use several books that only estimate the value in uncirculated condition. Do you collect $20's exclusively, or is there any other denomination that gets your attention ?
I am really just starting out..would like to stick to smaller bills 1's and 5's and errors..I just don't ever see older bills anymore especially in this condition..That is why I am interested in maybe holding on to them.. Side note. What crappy weather we had today..
Gotta admit that was the first thought in my head too LOL. I love the old twenties compared to the junk they have now. I still REALLY wish for the day where they take presidents off the notes and go for better designs.
For clarification purposes, Dancers and strippers are two different things. Ha...I'm just tellin' ya, cause I know...
Good luck finding a real dancer with $500 in cash...much less one with that much in the bank. If only our culture supported the arts as much as it supported sex workers...
Pfffftttt, Id much rather support the sex workers. Interpret something in dance on your own time and dime IMO. And back to money... I dont think there is much value in those beyoned what you personally put on them. I have a 63 and a 50 that I have kept, but they arent worth much more if at all over face. They would have to be crispy AU types or better to be worth anything. But if you like em, keep em dude. And I may not be pretty, but if you want to stuff 500 in my undies, I have a speedo somewhere......
I would contend that the best strippers make significantly less than the best ballet dancers, and on average, they probably make about the same. After all, for every stripper that goes home with $300 in tips, there are five-ten that are going home with $20 after working 4 hours.
Ha ha don't worry, out of 100 dances I've seen maybe 20 are really worth watching. Again, what happens when we have to work 4 jobs to support ourselves. I know it's off the original topic, but having lived with two strippers before the difference in pay is FAR in favor of the strippers. Really well compensated strippers can make close to $1,000 a night. I think I'd agree with the statement that really bad strippers don't make that much (I have a friend in Oregon that does make about $20 in an hour's work.) But as an example, I was offered two contracts by professional companies...one in Chicago ($3 a day) and one in St Louis (worked out to about $2.50 an hour.) Turned both down because, as a practical person, I like being able to eat at least once a day. And, of course, having money for coins! Back to the coin/paper money topic, I say collect what you enjoy and can afford to keep. If you feel something will be collectible down the road, go for it! I have a roll of 1937S Washington quarters that I could probably sell for melt right now...but in ten, twenty years I feel their value will increase (since they're the third smallest mintage of the series after the 1932D and 1932S.) So I buy them for melt whenever I can.
