I am unable to post pics while at work of it, but just got a $1* in change. Sure it may be in VF condition and from a high print run, but star for face value? I'll take it! serial is J01779056* series 2006 run 3,200,000.
I agree Matt....I'll take a Star note at face value any day. My latest from the Lynn Knight CPMX 2011 auction....... I bet you think you're seeing double, but I bid on this note 6 weeks ago when I first saw the auction catalog and never thought I would win it with the opening/minimum bid, so in the meantime I bought this note from a friend over on the PCGS "BST" forum.....and now I have two. BTW....the lower note, (PMG) was originally in a PCGS 66PPQ holder, and was cut out and sent in to PMG in hope of a 67EPQ grade......oops
Nice Hawaiian notes Steve. I'm going to have to try and find one of those in such good condition. All the examples I own are in fine condition. I just can't find nice examples in local shops up here in PA.
Thanks Mat. There are several blocks that are more abundant (S-C, P-C & L-C) and less expensive in higher grades, and then there are the tough blocks that are really pricey, (A-C, F-C, Z-B, & Y-B), and the star note that is the equivalent of purchasing a small used car. I have all of them except the star, and my A-C needs upgrading.
Yeah, I saw the price of the stars from the Hawaii overprints. I'm pretty much never getting one of those unless through dumb luck!
wonderful collections of notes here! All super nice for any collection. Thanks for sharing your notes
Nice Courtesy Autograph Clay......I also have one of these notes and folder. If I had to guess, I'd say Mary Ellen Withrow has autographed more notes than any other U.S. Treasurer.
here is a new note i got for a set i am working on it may take a long time to get all 12 at a price i can live with also working on some coins for an 1896 note of mine will try to post what i got so far not much but working on it also
Recently, I've been trying to complete my $2 4-subject sheet collection. I've completed 1976, 2003, and 2003A (regular & stars). My 1995 series is just 2 sheets shy of being complete after picking up these 2 Atlanta sheets. The series 1995 $2 4-subject sheets were ALL Atlanta, (F*,F-A,F-B,F-C,F-D,F-E,F-F,F-G, and F-H) I still need F-B and F-E......please lemme know if you see any.
Two recent buys - working on a $1 type collection. Didn't intend to get two examples - placed a bid on Ebay and won it with a bid I didn't think would be the highest. Other one picked up from Don Kelly (thanks for the help RickieB!). Black Eagle is the next on the list - stay tuned!
I have to admit that the Black Eagle is my favorite bill (can't you tell!?! ), but it took me FOREVER to find a specimen I liked and was within my price range. Good luck on your search, I beleive you will enjoy it immensely.
