    Sounds like folks are having good luck! I have noticed 10x the amount of NIFC and non-silver coins in my searching.. Dealers don't want to buy BU down here, so people are dumping them. I had 6 boxes of BU 97P halves and 3 of 4 dealers told me to 'spend it'.

    It isn't in demand, which means more nice coins for us searchers!

    Merc, if you have several is there something I could trade you for a VDB? I found 2 1909 pennies but not a VDB and my US type set needs one. Need any halves?

    I search through rolls of circulated pennies and often find at least one wheat penny per roll. The coolest wheat I have found was a 1936 DD.

    I got a 2011 dime in change today. First one I've seen. Do I get a cookie?

    Out of $310 in dimes:

    9 silver roosies (one Render?:p), including a 1949D :D for the Album.

    Only need 10 more to finish!

    Question: How can you tell if a coin that you find is from a proof set? Also I just found a strange dime, when you look at it from the side its like it has been hollowed out some. Almost like the top and bottom part of the coin were sat on top of a middle part that wasn't big enough for it. Anyone ever seen this before?

    That's post-mint damage, I've seen a few like that in my time.

    As for proofs, well, they're pretty obvious.

    Many proof coins will have the 'S' mintmark and a mirror-like finish. Posting pics is always helpful. Welcome to CT.

    So far, $200 in a combination of customer-wrapped and bank-wrapped rolls of dimes has yielded a single '64-D Roosevelt, and that was from a CWR. I also found a 2009-D in a CWR.

    Searched a box of halves - nothing
    box of dimes- nothing
    $160 in dimes 1 silver; someone was a real cheapskate and one roll was all pennies, the bank exchanged it for me
    another $250 in dimes found 4 silver dimes :)

    Bag of cents, $50 face... heavy on the zinc, that was irritating... probably only 15-20% copper, the worst copper bag I've ever had... not bad with the wheats and whatnot though;
