Received a collection in one of these albums. What great toners. I won't embarrass myself trying to take pictures because I can't do them justice. Many will be going off to NGC and I will probably have Todd take the pictures when I get them back. Anyone else have experience with these coin albums?

Yea, good luck getting them graded. They rejected a ton of coins I pulled from one.

Really. Hopefully I have better luck or I will be wasting a lot of money.

Well, they were all Lincolns so maybe you'll have better luck with other metal types. GOOD LUCK

Thanks Thad. Sending in a bunch of Roosies. I will post the results when I get them.

Like Thad mentioned, I would send in just a couple at a time. A large group of them could generate undesirable results, IMO.

Good luck Flyers. Those holders can make some nice toners and some ugly ones. Glad yours was the nice ones!

I would have Todd image them first. Just something to consider.

Just looking at the coins now to figure out what I am going to send in. I was thinking of just sending a bunch in at the same time. Would save a lot on shipping. Jim are you thinking that if I send in a large amount at one time many may come back details grade?

He's thinking if you send in a bunch of toners all at the same time they will think they are AT and won't slab any of them.

Thanks. I have 36 total I want to send in and get a nice NGC certified silver Roosie collection going. Don't want detail grades though. Tough decision.

The more I think about it the more I like that idea. I can also have Todd post some of the pictures on here if he doesn't mind and see what people think reference to natural or artificial toning. Should make an interesting thread. Thanks for the idea Larry.

Yeap, that is what I am thinking. How often in this forum is an Ebay seller pointed at as an ATer because he has so many the same. It is not uncommon a comment other places also. I realize that TPG should be above that logic, but since they have no real way of telling ( IMO, so as not to offend anyone), who could say.

    Jim .

+1 That's a SUPERB idea. Particularly if they are toned. It will make the photos come out MUCH better.

I can't wait to see them -- please keep us updated! :)

Thanks. Just waiting on Todd to see if he wants to take on the job. If anyone can capture the true toning on a coin it is him.

I agree with you Jim. I had to do it twice to learn the lesson. Many of the same coins came back in a good holder on later trips. I don't blame the grading services. They really have no way of knowing.

Thanks Larry and Jim. Working on sending the coins to Todd to photograph and then figure out what coins and how many to send to NGC at one time.
