I have a penny that is over 50% misprinted. It was a 1900 penny, only the 19 is showing but barley. Just wondering if there is a market for these type of mistakes. Would appreciate any feedback from the experts. Thanks, ES
Probably looks something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/U-S-LINCOLN-PEN...98?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item33663fb7fe
If the only visible part of the date is the first two digits how do you know it is a 1900 IHC? Please post photos.
That's a good point but my primary question remains so I will reword my question: If only the first two digits of the date are visible how do you know it is a coin that was struck in 1900?
Could be. Another possibility is he found the coin in an original roll or bag (although I doubt that is the case and I am not even sure if banks rolled coins in 1900).
