2 barber halves.....WOW. Congrats on that great find. I've never pulled one.

And, Great find on that grease fill die. I have found one like that as well. They are cool!

    My week:
Went to some small towns while I was away on business. Most didn't have any halves, but I did find about 12 bucks in loose and a few CWR. I picked up some BWR back in the city and got one box today.

    $12 in loose: 1 40%er
    5 CWR: 1 1964 and 2 40%ers
    25 BWR (half a box): 3 40%ers
    1 box: 26 40%ers :D

Those counterstamps are always neat to find, I think so anyway.

I did 2 boxes of cents today, and was rewarded with this fantastic 1898 Indian Head Cent! My first IH I've found roll searching! Probably about my 30th box of Pennies.

    Box 1
    1919-s
    1942
    1944
    1945-d
    1952
    1958
    2 Canadians, 1 was a 1945 King George

    Box 2
    1898 IHC
    1916
    1937
    1942
    1944x5
    1944-s
    1945x2
    1946-s
    1946-d
    1947
    1948
    1949-d
    1952
    1953-d x2
    1953-s
    1954-s
    1955
    8 Canadians, 1 King George 1942

    So altogether that's
    30 Wheaties
11 Candians, 2 of which were King Georges
    1 Indian Head Cent

It was very nice to see the obverse of the IH Penny staring back at me when I opened that roll, made my night. :) roll search IH.jpg

Congrats on the IHC, I've still only found two after appx 80-90 boxes, minimum. Probably more, I don't keep accurate enough tabs.

Thanks Merc. I just started keeping more accurate tabs this week, I've been roll-searching for about 10 months now, mostly pennies and nickels though.

In the month of March I've found 2 Indian Head pennies, one roll searching, and one metal detecting, it's been a good month for me. :)

I have come across something very interesting. I received some boxes from a bud out of town today, all FED boxes. The first one I opened and all '97 P enders, so I cracked 2 rolls and yes, all '97 - P. Opened two more boxes, you guessed it. Then I started looking at the code stamps on the outside of the cardboard. It appears I have six boxes full of '97 P halves. ($3,000 worth)

I am thinking that these came from the fed and have never been in circulation, much the same as rolls from the mint. Is my assumption correct? Has anyone ever came across this before and is there any money to be made off of these coins?

    Thanks in advance.

Never have come across that Incarnate....but if they are BU, then you probably could sell them for a small premium.

Throw a box on ebay and see what happens... Shame they weren't just boxes wrapped in 1997, I'm sure those would have a decent amount of silver in 'em, eh? How about the other 4 boxes?

I'll let you know when I finish them.

By the way, all six boxes had a code of 2823 stamped on the outside of the box. The ones that have had various years all had are all stamped in the 5XXX series.

Where were these boxes ordered from?

Oh, in the roll of halves that I get there was more than 1983-Ds. It was then that I looked on the roll and saw 1983-D stamped on it real big.

Went through two rolls of dimes today (because the three banks I went to didn't have halfs)
    Found
    1952-D
    1965
    1966
    1967
    1982-P
    1983-P
    Nothing much.

Really? When I bought these I thought I would at least find 5 or so. Maybe I was just too optimistic

    :(

You could shred all the rolls and look for MS68 or better coins, and send them in to be certified... 68 looks like top pop right now, but your odds of finding a 68 or better in a roll are insanely low.
