Does any body on this site metal detect for coins. I've always been interested but never took the next step.

tomorrow i am going to look in a wooded area that indians, colonial and revolutionary people lived and walked through. im going to look near stone walls to see if someone dropped a coin while trying to get over the wall :)

    best of luck,

I have a metal detector and I have found several coins but it has been a while since I have been out swinging. Maybe when the weather warms up I'll pull out the MD and see what pops up.

When my parents bought me mine it came with the bounty hunter pinpointer. If it wasn't for that I probably would not have found most of the things that I did. It really helps.

Research the area you are going to hunt in. Old maps etc.....

A couple of my friends metal detect. Last week I was using my friends Garrett and found a 1925 Merc. dime. We were checking out an old foundation that used to be an arsenal.......Now might be the time to break out the seldom used depth multiplier and search for a cannon ball. : )
