Good evening, I have marked the doubling on the obverse, and am looking for help with the reverse and cannot not find any info about the crooked Lincoln statute. Any help will be appreciated. I hope my photos are show more clearly, as I have worked quite a bit at it and also tested them in the test forum. Thank you :smile
Looks like it has machine doubling. If the motto is doubled, at least faintly, it is DDO. But it doesnt't look like it has DDO.
Date looks like machine doubling. Looks like one of the columns on the reverse has it as well. Not sure of details on the Lincoln statue, but from what I've seen the statues aren't very consistent. I may be off though. Doubling on the motto won't necessarily change this from machine doubling to DDO. The motto would have to be true doubled die to earn that designation. There are a few types of doubling so the way you worded it is slightly confusing.
Certainly clear enough to see everything your talking about. Play around with lighting a bit and you have some great photos! :thumb:
Hi This looks like 1972 P 1DO-09 Here is a link: http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/dietype.php?date=1972&die_mint=p&die_type=do&page=1 I am no pro at this but I just did some homewrok on the 72 and this coin looks a lot like the one described on that page.
