That's a real nice haul. I always take what tellers have laying around in the vault, there's usually goodies in there.

My bank let's me order full boxes of cents through quarters. So after getting through the first box of cents I have litteraly found hundreds of minor error. Die cracks, die breaks, etc. A purchase on Ebay of 10 rolls of 2010 cents has yielded gads of the same error which is a hairline crack at the top left of the shield and a die crack at the forward portion of Lincoln hair, both usually on the same coin. There is also a small clash to the lower right on some of these. In the first box found about 50 wheat cents, one a 1916s and a 1972 Doubled die (liberty) minor. Many have complained recently about a lack of pre-1982 copper (bronze) cents. That's been no problem in my searches. It might just be bad luck for most. I'm not saving them as no scrap yard to my knowledge would take them for the copper anyways.

Lady at my bank told me it was .08 a roll per half dollar roll.

She may have been making that up however.

No charges or fees at my bank but the teller I go through has become intrested in errors. She asks me every week what I might have found. She was amazed at what I showed her. Then she brought in a quarter with no visible copper on the edge. I let her use my magnifier to show her the "trace cooper" showing on the edge. She was dissapointed at first but then asked where she could get a magnifier like mine. Maybe I have a newbie in the works?!

Just an observation and a suggestion.
First, this thread is huge! 731 pages!
Second, my suggestion. Maybe because of all the coin roll searchers, there should be a sub-forum, based on coin type.

I disagree for a variety of very good reasons I won't get into as I'm trying to bang out the remainder of this box before seven.

Was traveling today, half away across the country. Took a gamble and stopped at a couple of banks. Not much at any until the last one. $570 in halves..................

When she brought them out I could tell many of the CWR were searched, but she also had SEVENTEEN little blue wrapped Mint Rolls dated 2001-2011!!! #Winning

Incarnate: I know what you are talking about. I just ran into a bit of an issue Saturday at 2 of my oldest banks. For a LONG time, Bob and I were the only two regularly ordering boxes in our area. I started off ordering 1 a week, then 2, then 3 up to a peak of 6/7 a week. I ordered from 6 different branches made up of 5 different banks. That was during the summer when I had time and was more addicted lol. For the past months I get 2 maybe 3 a week if I have time. I have 8 dump banks that I rotate so none of them see me too regularly. I usually dump $400-$500.

Now some bad news that seems to be growing. The last few weeks, some "newbies" are hitting Bob and my banks (Buying 4 or 5 boxes at a time) and Bob has increased his volume as well. One of the Well's Fargo's had 24 boxes (accidentally ordered wrong) last Thursday. I bought 2 of the boxes from them. I went by today not even to buy any halves but just to make a deposit in my son's account. When I walked in, the teller said I hope you don't want halves, I responded not today but maybe later in the week. She said good cuz I am out. Buh? I told her no way! She said between Bob (Friday, Saturday, and Today) and the other guy (Saturday and Today), they bought the other 22 boxes. Then she told me they are probably going to have to start limiting how many they get a week and how many customers can get each week as the main branch questioned them.

Then I stopped at one of the dump banks with about $155 in halves to dump. The teller I alwasy talk to said there was talk at their last training meeting that they might be changing their coin machine policy. Right now you can dump $200 per account so if you have 3 accounts for example, you could dump $600. She said they are talking about changing the policy to $200 per CUSTOMER. The cost is getting too high with all the volume and coin searcher according to the manager.

Ugh...getting too popular and drawing attention is not good for the little guys lol.

Anyway, just sharing as recent threads have been discussing this. She did have $7 in her tray but all clad.

Same stuff happened to me on my bank run Saturday. SEVERAL of the banks were like no, there was a guy here this morning and we have no halves. I had my teller manager/supervisor where I order halves from tell me that She had a guy order 20 boxes last week. (I order 4 per week) Where he is dumping all that I have no idea.

I have a bud bringing me 10 boxes from out of state to hopefully get me out of the rut. All my boxes are the long and skinny ones from the Fed. Are you guys pulling Fed boxes or Brinks?

Did 22 CWR or cents tonight. I bought $50 today while on the road. The first roll I pull out is 100% pre-1980. I was stoked. The next 21 rolls? Not so much. However, I did have the ureal amount of 41% copper. That's almost double of what I get from BWR. 5 wheats the oldest a 1914. (No "D" I looked really, really, really hard for it, but its just not there. :)

Also, found a very nice BU 1972 d.

I'm still going to post a pic of that 1983 p Jefferson NIckel die clash I found yesterday. I ordered a microscope camera off Amazon last night so I can photograph coins. My wife's Rebel just doesn't have it.......

The long skinny ones arnt from the fed they are from brinks....There were too many complaints on how awkward the square boxes were to carry so they changed the design. At least thats what I was told by a Vice president at Harris.. The old brown ones are from the fed and the yellow ones are brinks.

It is the opposite. The square ones are from brinks and the long skinny ones have the yellow wrappers (string and son).

My last 3 boxes have been skunks.

And Erin, you are correct....with my luck in the boxes lately (notwithstanding these last 3), I started picking up more. Time to ratchet back down to a comfortable 2-3 a week. The guy from the gold exchange place picked up 4 boxes from wells fargo today. I originally asked for one....hoping to pick up another one later in the week. When she said that he picked up 4, I got two so they wouldn't all be gone. Both were skunks.

But.....that was my 300th box, so time for stats.

But I do have a question Bobbeth, whats the time frame for all those boxes serached and then how much time and effort went into getting rid of the halves to dump banks, driving time plus gas to get them, and drop them off, the amount of time to go through the rolls, etc......Im curious to see that break down....lol :)
