Of course they do. However, I will wager that is not the case with this coin. It appears the coin was toned with the fingerprint suggesting it's been there for a while.
Buddy, you must be out of your mind. You really think I'm going to send a $1,200 MPL from Hawaii to someone I don't even know?? No thanks.
PCGS graded this fingerprint MS64RB Anyone have access to AFIS? Click on the pic twice for full resolution and let me know if the image is messing with the forum width. Coinguy, try getting the light as straight down vertical as you can to capture the colors.
Silver? MS 64 What do all 3 coins have in common? They "look" like better coins but were net graded (rightfully so) for their fingerprint. IMO of course.
There was a thread on the PCGS boards around a year ago that was asking members to post their fingerprint coins. There were several toned fingerprints that actually enhanced the look. I'll have to find the thread and link it.
May I jump in here and say that after reading all these posts and looking at these latest pictures, I really like the look with the fingerprint! Enhanced the look, as you say! Very nice!
They are beauties....however, try not to get burned like I did on a pvc damaged one from those stupid people at Heritage.
Yep it's Heritages fault that you could not look at the coin before you bought it. Or maybe its Anac's fault because they slabbed and you still didn't take the time to study the coin that you were interested in. I understand that you got burned but it was due to your lack of looking at the coin. How about taking the high road and admit that you didn't study the coin enough to see something that was plainly visible if you would of just looked. I understand that your an YN but why do you think it went for a low price. Maybe that the others that were interested in the coin LOOKED at it and seen the PVC?
I keep getting banned from that place. Coincidently I started a thread here, not many coins posted though.. http://www.cointalk.com/t156072/
Trust me buddy, there were alot of bidders, I recall about 5/6. I was constantly being outbid. Plus, Heritage were the ones auctioning off the coin. They should have over looked the coin. They missed (obviously) and I missed it too. And the other bidders probably missed it but I took the bullet with the highest bid. I sent atleast 5 EMAILS to HERITAGE about 2 months ago and they haven't responded to ANY of them. Wow....that SURE WAS good CUSTOMER service!!! Wow....that sure was nice and SLICK!!! I looked many times at the coin while it was being auctioned, what I didn't expect a CERTIFIED coin to have PVC DAMAGE!!! All I hear is good stuff about them with everyone else, and they can't even respond to my emails and emails that parents have sent, and they couldn't even spot PVC on the coin. They auctioned off the coin, in person. They have never said ANYTHING about auctioning off coins with active damage. NCS got it off, NGC re-slabbed it but still didn't attach a grade to it. Still bumped it to $575, when the value was around $500. That's alright though, you can keep on complaining and protecting your precious Heritage auctions with a bunch of crap. I'm done. I'm DONE. I'm done with this crap. And then they can't even take the precious time to respond to emails, even though, the emails were nice and calm. I just sent them another email a day ago, lets see how many years it takes for someone to respond. Edit: You have alot better chance in spotting PVC on a coin in person than you do online. Guilty conscience Edit:, That comment is probably going to earn me an infraction or ban. Still, I have every right in the world to be in rage because of that. But still like many of you mentioned, I am behind alot of it, I made some mistakes that I could have avoided. But most of it is on the seller. He auctioned it off as a PF-63 BN, But instead, it was genuine Proof, PVC damage. I apologize to the mods for posting this comment.
When all is said and done Coinguy, I still think you have a great coin and a nice picture of it. It's a better pic than I ever took of my slabbed coins. Congrats! Bruce
