I agree that you should be compensated your expenses plus a little something else, but what I don't get is why you think not being compensated makes it okay to steal $38k.

Bunch of greedy edited, here on CT! Always looking for something for nothing. I'm ashamed!

I always know what I bought, who I bought it from and when it's due for delivery. There are no "surprises" in my mail box. How hard is it to tell the carrier that the box is not for you and to refuse delivery? Sender gets his stuff back and no one owes me anything, it hasn't cost me anything, and the world is back in order.

    This:

Is not quite the same as this:

    So which is it?

    1) Ask the dealer to cover the return shipping (entirely reasonable) and gas (nitpicky but ok)?

    2) Attempt to extort 33% of the package value from the dealer in a civil suit for your "excitement and pain" which you went on to point out that he might settle rather than risk losing the whole package and its contents plus legal fees?

I'm far too old to be surprised at what people do. Nonetheless, I'm a bit taken aback at some of the posts on this thread. Seems like we are all being circled by sharks, just looking for us to drop our guard long enough for them to be able to swim in and take a bite.

At least sharks are just doing what comes naturally.

Makes ok to steal 38k I do not agreed with that. Stealing is a federal offense.
You must have a proof first that someone stole that money. If you are saying the man received that 38k he stole it? I will dis-agreed with that. The man never stole that 38k. He just simply received that packaged address to him. IF THIS MAN GOES TO THE DEALER HOUSE AND TOOK HIS 38K without paying or knowledge of a dealer that was stealing.

    Texas John, yes.
Some of us simply present possibilities, which may not reflect our customs or devotion for something. At times, I may come to this forum but will not have desire to type something; during other occasions, I may be a little drunk while typing irrational and unnatural words. To polish different "faces" for the forum, is admirable...if the embellishment doesn't become too monotone.
There isn't much naturalness within our judicial system. Especially knowing that humans are one of the few creatures willing to sell themselves.
