    You may be right here, but this is just a long line of threads like this where people try to defend the actions of people doing questionable things.

    Easy solution;

    Dealer gives the man a nice, slabbed Gaudens as a reward for returning the shipment.

    The dealer will get his back in other ways and the guy who decided to keep the coins will lose 10 times that amount over his life because karma is the best equalizer. I feel sorry for him that he thinks he is 38k richer. What a loser.

    The dealer should just toss his name out there by "accident"... let some criminals track him down and rob him. That would be some nice karma.

    I'm sure, or would hope, the dealer has (or had) intentions of doing SOMETHING if it were a seamless, stressless return of the coins. That would be much less than 10%, and for the recipient, it not only shows that the dealer is MORE than grateful, but it shows his gratitude.

    bigjpst, I couldn't agree with you more!

    Dealer faults all the way!

    :thumb:Just all remember this is a dealer fault not the man who received it. Dealer started all this messed. Why blame the innocent man in GA. Dealer must apologized for his mistake and compensated the man who is willing to return is 38k. And never never to confront the man with a red face that it looks he stole the 38k.and never call him :devil:extortionist too if he asking to be compensated. Is not his fault 100% this all the fault of the dealer. Period nothing else.:smile:p

    No, I wasn't referring to any posts or posters getting into a legal debate over what the law is / may be in different states. Those I found quite interesting.

    The posts I was referring to were those who would demand (not hope) to be rewarded for simply behaving honestly and returning what they knew was not theirs to the tune of various percentages (extortion to give it the proper name), and most incredibly the poster who would seek 33% of the package value in a civil suit as compensation for "excitement and pain" caused by receiving and then losing a fortune. That made my head hurt.

    Edit: read the post above mine, I guess I'm not the only one.

    Speedie, are you saying that if someone shoots you with a bullet and then demands the bullet back because it was a mistake, would you simply return the bullet and not sue for damages?
    Returning to the original case...it can be won for moral damages. If you would like to read some proof about similar instances, I would send you them through PM.

    You are entitled to keep your money and where to put it.:) I am entitled too with my opinion honestly without regret.- Georgia Man should be rewarded if he is willing to return the parcel completely. ---If am a Dealer I will send him first a 4K ( FOUR tHOUSAND US DOLLAR w/ A THANKFUL NOTE ATTACH.for a reward then I will wait for a return of 38K. Anyway THIS IS ALL my mistake. I will be happy to do it,thAN LOSING EVERYTHING A 38K.---

    Not sure if that's really meant to be a serious question? If you can't see the difference between getting shot and receiving a package in the mail that you didn't order, then I'd suggest you send your moral compass in to be recalibrated.

    I've no doubt the case could be won for moral damages. It doesn't mean that it's right to file it. Such nonsense and people getting butthurt over nothing is a large part of what ails certain sections of our society.

    well. This is a big difference, a man in front of you in a matter of seconds you can easily return the wallet. But to received a package and drive out spend a gasoline back and forth and open the boxes and there's a 38k on that boxes, of course this is a big fortune then suddenly you realized and you are willing to return that 38k completely of course you are entitled to be conpensated for all expenses that it cost to you. I never intent to keep that 38k because is not belong to me but i am asking for conpensation for all my expenses for a returning the 38k. What is wrong with that? I think i am 100 percent correct to as all my expenses back for returning his 38k.
