Looks like a triple punched date? However coin has great details, been cleaned and slightly bent. Fake maybe? Just more damage? I’m puzzled help me please.

Not an error collector , but it looks like someone annealed a blank and transferred a coins image , like counterfeiters make dies . JMO

Except the image on a die is reversed. Same thing if a coin is pressed into a soft blank.

I'm not the best at taking photos of coins, but here are more. You can see the damage more clearly on the reverse. Also just to clear up some confusion on my half, incused refers to the image being stamped in like the Indian Quarter eagle design correct?

MS ??? I dont know about that. Coin has been cleaned and has some damage to it. Wish I had more Half Dimes!

I do have another with clashed dies though let me see if I can find it.

Yeah, too bad someone got a hold of it like that. That is a very impressive coin if not so harshly cleaned. Maybe NCS could help with the damage.

Even as is, its a nice coin, damage and all.

Btw, dented coins can be fixed if that was the only issue with the coin. I have seen severely dented dimes and quarters straightened so you would have never known. No, not a hammer and rag, but heat and slight, consistent pressure over a period of time, and bent coins can be made right.

Sorry about the Icky. Gut reaction ya know. I do feel your pain. Take a look at my poor Hapaha. Bezel damage and removed by a ham fisted, tank brained, muscle head. ;) IMG_0244.jpg IMG_0242.jpg

Darn shame about the damage. Repunched dates like this can be pretty cool.

And sometimes when taking pictures the angle and the lighting make the date or design look incused versus raised. In your first set of pictures the second looks normal, but then your eyes drift down to the third picture and it looks incused.

Bruce I thought the design was incused on the ops coin , I think a combination of needing new glasses and a little optical illusion . LOL
