& copy is stamped on the reverse on all the coins and the word tribute in my mind means it's a personal production haven't you ever seen "A Tribute to Star Wars" just for example, I am sorry I am with sgiorgis the only thing I am against is that Price Tag!
I would agree with Sgiorgis also and I don't believe he meant it was okay to rip newbies. Yes I did read the whole thread.
As a true newbie to coin collecting, under 5 months collecting/studying. I find this listing misleading, and could see how someone could buy this not knowing they are replicas. Just my thoughts. Another lesson learned from this thread. Thanks Jeffb!
WOW, That makes so much sense that Ebay'll never do it. They collect plenty of money when these copy/replica/fakes sell, so I don't see them cutting their profits soon. If they were to do the right thing, they'd get a bit more respect and a lot less money. I think they'll stick with the money Bruce.
Ok enough already. Nowhere in this does sgiorgis endorse ripping off newbies. "It says TRIBUTE set right on the listing. I have NO problem with this listing." Seems simple to understand "Are you folks concerned with ripping off Newbies?" A question, that should be answered by all with YES..... But it isn't him endorsing it. So lets end all the petty stuff that seems to be going on.
This auction is in violation of eBay policy. nowhere in the definition of tribute is the meaning of copy or replication. (Taken directly from eBay policy) Replica coins Sellers of replica coins must follow these guidelines: Any replica coin (U.S. or foreign) must be clearly and permanently marked with the word "COPY". This is required under U.S. law. The listing must include a photo of the coin showing the "COPY" marking on the coin itself. Images that are dark, out of focus, edited or might be misleading aren't allowed. Also, stock photos aren’t allowed. In addition to including appropriate photos, replica coin listings must clearly state that the coin is a "reproduction," "replica," or "copy" in both the title and description. Sellers can't list reproduction or replica versions of any Canadian coin or currency. (Anyone before now claiming this auction linked is legit is full of $#%^ and does not understand eBay policy)
