I am trying to figure out right now which 1955 D/S Variety this is. It is ANACS 64, but it was not given the variety; the slab just says "1955-D/S". I need to sell it tomorrow (need the money), so if someone could help me with the variety and value I'd appreciate it. :) I saw them going for $45 all the way up to $150.

Here are some pics (sorry about the quality):

Does anybody know where I can find an online database of Nickel Varieties?

unfortunately our resident jefferson nickel expert is in the penalty box, but you may be able to find him on a different forum.

I recall years ago Speedy was into Nickels quite heavily. I would check with him.

    Good luck..

Coneca has a good list, but mainly based on markers rather than photos. I would look at Heritage Auctions archive, and google for other possible sites. D/S varieties are very collectible.

After my research, it turns out that this nickel is 1955-D/S OMM-003, D/D/S (D/D South), Stage B. Thanks everybody. :)

Typical resale ANACS 64's run about $85.00 . Nicely toned examples will command a bit more .
