I surely was not trying to "get away" with anything. Ebay is like a giant garage sale imho. Where is the responsibility for buyer due diligence? There was no small print, it was at least a font size 12.

I also have seen S&H being used as to avoid Ebay fees. Ebay does not get a cut of shipping and handling. Lots of China sellers charge a penny for sales and then $50 for shipping. More profit.

Your life and your problem but the bottom line is somebody got burnt and they want their money back. You're supposed to make it right and it doesn't matter if the lady shouldn't have bought it. The bottom line is you were selling a fake!

I´m saying you are now "trying" to get away with it. You know now that this is not a real error coin and in stead of doing the right thing and refunding that person who´s hard earned money you have taken. You try to point out font size in the fine print. As much as I hate to admit but I think ebay´s policy changes on seller responsibilty wich I have been against is prooving to be right this time.

It actually does not matter what you think about the sale ebay will refund the person for you in the end. And then go after you........

It was not my intent to get you to leave Tukas, and i´m relaxed as can be. I was pointing out to you what I thought you did wrong.

If you ask for peoples oppnion you have to take both sides of the spectrum.

My take on this: Tukas, if you weren't 100% positive this was an error coin, you should have sought the advice of an expert on errors before listing it for auction on eBay.

You have no choice but to refund the money. Get the item back, and seek the advice of someone knowledgeable in errors to tell you exactly what you have, and whether it has value before trying to sell it again.

My take on this is that the title of the auction "Test Strike? Error Coin Penny Lincoln 1980 Nickle" was misleading whether intentional or not.

"Test Strike" can also be read as "Could this be a test strike?" and then the next words are "Error Coin". By putting those phrases in the heading you are making the reader (buyer) think it's an actual mint error or a test strike regardless of what you placed in the description.

The best thing to do to save your ebay reputation is to provide a full refund and an apology. It's a small price to pay for a bit of education and to save face.

My understanding is he's trying to make her prove it was a fake by getting her to submit a COA from the coin dealer she took it to. It appears that he is trying to retard the situation, I could say more but I won't. It also looks like he's gonna ruin his name for the nonsense he speaks for a measley $300 or whatever it was. Ppl like that ruin it for us honest sellers on ebay!! jmho

YOUR TITLE IS A MIS LEADING. ERROR COIN- TEST STRIKE.

I do not know why the BUYER not filing a case and return the item to the buyer with confirmation number. All the buyer need is the tracking confirmation number that he/she return the item to the buyer. And disclose everything to e/bay papal that he/she bought a FAKE item from the BUYER. Then He will get a Refunds after the e/bay or paypal made a decision that the buyer is unhappy nor not satisfied on his Money for a product he won from the seller. ( ITEM NOT DESCRIBED a MIS LEADING ERROR COIN a TEST STRIKE?- TITLE). ERROR COIN means a real GENUINE ERROR COIN not a FAKE ONE.

(NO RETURN ACCEPTED is NOTHING IF HE/SHE SEND IT BACK TO YOU THE ITEM with a CONFIRMATION NUMBER)

Nobody is asking you to leave but ppl are having a hard time getting their point across to you b/c you seem like you're frustrated b/c you may have to refund that buyer. What are you doing on ebay if you're not gonna play by the rules? If you don't believe the many ppl who have responded to your post and question, maybe you can ask the ebay lady but I haven't seen her around for awhile. You don't have to leave at all, there has been situations like this one in the past. The ebay lady's name is below, ask her what she thinks.

Well, I was waiting for a reply from the buyer about returning it to me, and instead, she filed on me. I do not even have to coin back.

    So now, DIID, DIID. *shrug*

I supplied Ebay with all the email correspondence I got from everyone during the auction. Ebay can sort it out. At this point, and maybe before, the sale was going to be overturned.

I suppose I am. After the hubby's trip to the ER two days ago to the tune of $500, I suppose having to scrape the $ to re-pay the ebay lady has made me a little stressed.

NOT SAYING I WOULD NOT HAVE TO SCRAPE PRIOR TO THIS! But this is the first time I have ever had an issue on Ebay. It is just a double whammy.

no comment here.... this coin to me is obviously not an error coin because it's incluse like a homemade die. The only way this would ever be possible at the mint is if somehow a penny flew all the way over to the Nickel dies at the exact moment the nickel was being striked and yea I just don't see it as logical

Double denomination coins do happen, but not that often. If you take my coin for instance. That one is a double denomination from two countrys now that´s a flight.

Nice one siggi, I am aware that double denomonations do happen. But what I was saying is that the nickel would have to of been in the die at the time it was struck (and a blank nickel on top) so a sandwich of Die, Nickel Blank, Struck Penny, Nickel, Die would had to of been and I just don't see that happening at the mint, UNLESS IT WAS INTENTIONAL
