I just acquired this 1923 Silver Certificate. Although ungraded, I would like others opinions. It's signed my Woods/White. This example obviously did not circulate long and the evidence is minimal(see enlarged scans). Premium paper quality with nice embossing. Gem centering. Bold inking against crispy bright paper.
This Fr. 238 would probably grade VF-30-35 because of the numerous folds, including corner folds. The paper looks to be still crisp & bright. The note faces up well. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your help. The paper is still crisp and bright, you're correct about that. I thought for how old it is and the price, I couldn't pass it up, since these types in this condition are generally too much.
Nice note! Congrats! our you planning on sending it in for grading? Based on the several hundred notes i have graded by PCGS and comparing them to this One i,am going to be on the fence here between VF25 and VF30 as Steve stated there Our many folds and some corner issues that would keep it in this grade range.
I was thinking about sending it in to grade. However I have not decided yet. I might wait until I get a few more notes in this condition or better before I consider it.
I'm thinking low XF around maybe 40 to VF+ 30. The folds are light and would make it XF, but the corner issues and scuff marks could very well knock it down to VF. I don't think I would send this one in...
