Picked up a raw Commem on The "Bay"

    Yes I know, risky indeed. I kicked myself after bidding but figured what the hey? It'll be a learning experiance, as you see, I've never bought off of e-bay unless the product has been holdered or been in OGP. So I took a chance and I think that maybe I didn't do too bad. Tell me what you think and don't pull any punches. If you feel something's amiss with this coin please do tell.....:)

    the "r" in plurbus seems to be funky IMO

    Looks like a very nice strike with decent luster! Are you thinking to submit the coin for grading to add to your early Commemorative collection you have going?

    Do you mean offset, raised above the U in Pluribus?

    By far that is my favorite coin produced. I use to have a really nice one as well. I'll get another sooner or later

    TC, I suspect it might have had a bit of a "dusting off" in the past but I don't believe it was harshly done.....:)

    Great looking coin! Being an Illinois native, it's definitely on my dream list for my "Illinois Type Set".
