My friend went to Italy. She gave me these Euros to me knowing I’m looking at coins and my grandparents were from Italy.
Yes that first one is very interesting. The sculpture featured on the front is by Umberto Boccioni and called Unique forms of continuity in space - from 1913. I studied futuristic and abstract art in the 90's
Yes it is beautiful. I have not looked up the history yet. Was so pleased to get them could not wait to post them. Thank you!
Pam If you wondered about the letters MAC on the obverse they are the Italian engravers initials - Maria Angela Cassol
For size comparison. Here are my 1999/2001 French 20c and 2001 50 cent The light is bad here today so they look a little silver in colour.
....and similar to your Italian 1 bi-metal Euro here is a 2002 year. Image - Vitruvian Man was created by Leonardo da Vinci around the year 1487
Nice. I was so excited that my friend remembered to bring me some back from Italy. My dad had a couple of Italia but older.
Lost many of dad’s foreign coins in the flood or taken while we were not at home during the flood. Not accusing of course but some things in our home were taken. I did not care about the other stuff, fridge etc, the personal things that have meaning.
.........and if you are interested in seeing the smaller denomination Euro coins, here are the 1,2 and 5 Euro Cents. Different countries - Germany, Spain Ireland
