Oh. I really have no idea about stuff in Texas. I just got a Bounty Hunter Quick Draw II(Say that 5 times fast!!) for Christmas. Only went out a few times and haven't found too much. Good luck!

Southwestern PA. I feel lucky because I can literally see the Forbes Trail from my house. There is also a ton of old houses and cabins that are near my house or were near my house before something happened to them.

Do you remember this 2007 article about a rare coin find in an old Pennsylvania farm house?

I actually do remember that. It's about a 20 minute drive from my house. I've been in his store before and I'll just say he isnt the cheapest of all people. All the coins I bought from him 5 years ago are still worth waaayyyy less than what I bought them for, except for a 1903 barber dime for $2

I can imagine someone volunteering to do chores for the elderly and, when they're not looking, scan their walls with a metal detector!

Unfortunately, a metal detector wouldn't have been much help making this 2007 find!

In the Baltimore-Washington area...not very good for metal detecting I'm afraid. :dismay:

I'm not really sure. I think if you would be willing to drive for a little while into the country side you might have some luck.

Perhaps...but if I found myself driving into the country with enough time to "metal detect", I would most likely be on my way to a golf course. ;)

there is a revolutionary war monument on grounds where a battle was fought in the next town over from where i live, but its historically protected, so im going to go right off of that land ( with permission ) and try to find some things, and maybe go in the back field behind my aunts house because its about 2 acres of just grass

Eh, Golfings alright, never really got into that much seeing that I'm only 14 and get bored of doing stuff(besides roll searching, metal detecting, and hunting) in about 30 minutes. I just want to go out sometime and hit it big, thats the main reason for me metal detecting.

If they made a reasonably functional metal detector when I 14 that's where I would be, too! :thumb:

I did try golfing for a little while when I was younger. I still have the clubs, but I've grown about 2 feet since I used them so they are kinda useless to me. My detectors decent, I just hope I can pull out a coin or something. A friend of the family has been detecting for about 15 years and offered to take me with him sometime. He has already found 17th century spanish coins a mile or so from my house.

I second that opinion!!! I did have one but it was a cheapo model. But I did have one but never found anything worth keeping.

I still don't understand how a metal detector works. It makes no sense to me.

I just don't understand how someone sat down and decided that this thing might find metal and it works.
