You are REALLY on a roll....congrats. Your totals may be passing us all up (if not already) if you keep at it.

I'll give you my stats, though not as extensive as Merc's:

    13 boxes.......7 sivers.........or 2.15 per $1000

    8 bags........39 silvers.......or 4.875 per $1000

Quite a load, including my 2nd ever dream box

Total from 30 boxes of halves searched in the last 2 days gave up:

    62-90%
    4-Bens
    381-40% (1-1970d)

    Quick stats:
    • 25 out of 30 boxes contained at least one silver
    • 23 out of those 25 boxes had at least one ender
    • Dream box had 106 silvers (15-90%, 2-bens, 89-40%)
    • Box above had 9 enders, 2 of which were double enders
    • Dream box had 38/50 rolls containing silver
    • Most in one roll was 9. Many many rolls have between 3-6
    • Other notable boxes of 53, 48, 41, 38, 25, 23, 22, 16, & 10 keepers
    • Overall average of 14.90 keepers per box
    • Roughly 80 troy oz of silver
    • Total silver value around $2,800.00

Still have 6 boxes to dump, I had to take 2 vacation days to do this. It definitely was worth it though. I plan to keep with my 4 boxes a week for awhile, maybe try another monster hunt in the fall. Most of the 40% looked brand new uncirculated....very strange. Also in the best boxes I found several 2007 clad proofs in the mix.

    30 boxes in two days?

Wow.....but as you say, well worth it with the silver you found. You are hitting multiple home runs!!!! In what part of the country do you live?

He lives in CT or somewhere close, IIRC.

Like I said, the CT area seems to get all the silver, that's a heck of a haul.

After $480 in CWR of quarters, I found nothing but a 2009 Canadian and 18 quarters from the '70's that look like they came straight from a mint set. There were Philadelphia and Denver-minted coins from the Bicentennial years, 1978, and 1979. Are those worth keeping, do they have any premium over face because they are in mint state?

went to at least 15 to 20 banks today and picked up about 300 dollars in halfs between them all and found absolutely nothing. I did pick up 24 Ike dollars that one bank had. Isn't there something to look for in those?

Look for the 72 Type II in the Ikes. Basically, the carribean islands on the mini world are different.

    I searched two boxes today:

    Box 1: skunk
    Box 2: 1950 Frankie......nothing else

If you are only going to find one, a Ben is a good one to find.

    :)

bobbeth87 not to be a pain but do you know of a link that might have a picture of the type II Ike? I have 13 and I am not sure what the different looks would be. I assume that they aren't worth much more anyways though...

BTW congrats on all the Franklins you have been finding lately. I have found a barber, walker and Kennedy but never a Franklin and they are my most favorite half dollar to collect.

So roll searching is basically going to the bank, get rolls of coins and hope for key dates?

Do you have techniques for taking the coins out and putting them back in?

Yeah but what bank is going to let you pick up 15 thousand in halves...?? Not to mention most banks have a hard enough time ordering you one box lol.
