    Went threw a box of pennies yesterday which yielded $6.50 in pre 1982's 17 wheat pennies(best being a 1916 s the only one that I needed for my folder. 37 Canadian pennies oldest being a 1962. And two S pennies which I accidentally re rolled :-/ Both were pre 82 though.

    Here is a question that I've had issues with. How do you guys transport the large volume and weight to your vehicle? I successfully tore up my new suitcase with 4 boxes of dimes and two halves. I'm on my way to office max to seek a solution

    I ask the above question because my draw bank is 11 blocks from where I can park. How you guys in NY do this? Multiple trips two boxes at a time?

    box of nickels which yielded no silver but around 30 pre 1960 nickels. just wondering what are the chances of finding a silver nickel in a box?

    Ive probably gone through about a box and a half of nickels and have only found one silver. I also found one buffalo. Also I got $20 in cents yesterday and found a 1973 with JFK stamped on the coin facing lincoln. Saw some going for about $7.50 on ebay still attached to the card though.

    I just started searching halves. Got a box of halves from bank and found about $50 of bicentennial halves & no silver, only 1 1993 S. Is this amount of bicentennial halves normal? Is it normal to find no silver in a whole box?

    Totally normal. Sometimes 8 boxes and no silver. Just gotta keep at it.

    I found my solution. It's called a magna cart and collapses and says it will hold 150 lbs. I'll find out tomorrow when I go get my 4 boxes of halves.

    right after I posted that it came to mind that you do ridiculous amounts so that makes more sense now...

    how the heck do you have the time to do all this with work too?

    Ahh, I made a typo there, take out the "in". 10-15k cents each week. 100-150 bucks worth.

    Tompkins, I have about 2 hours of downtime at work a day. That's more than enough to go through a box, especially when you have your system down like I do.

    Merc,

    Have you had any luck with bags of dimes off of machines? I've got two branches now that I can purchase bags directly off the machine and I was debating on picking up the dimes next time I pass through.

    I wish man...I work at a paint store and a lot of times by myself...never have down time enough to really do anything. Although I always hope the coin rolls we have in the drawers at work are the paper and not plastic so I can search them when I have time lol. Can't do the plastic ones tho cuz I cant get the coins back in haha

    Well....................its happened again.....This is the 4th week in a row that I have hit a batch of silver. I picked up 4 boxes today and pulled as follows: Box 1, 1 90%er 5 40%ers. Box 2, 1 Walker 57 40%ers. Box 3, 5 40%ers. Box 4, 58 40%ers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Totaling 125 40%ers and 2 90%ers. It is getting increasingly difficult walking around with this horseshoe up my bum......:cool::cool::cool:
