$350 in Brinks rolls today - Halves

    One '69 and one NIFC

I have really had HORRIBLE luck with Brinks rolls and I see that others are just cleaning up.

I don't get it.. ohh well mine are all marked up. I think Brinks is the dumping grounds where I am

I search partial bags of Kennedy halves from my local bank. For years, I've seen averages of 2% to 2.5% silver in Kennedy halves. This bag is gonna mess that statistic up.

My new favorite teller called to tell me that there was $100 in the bag on the machine, so I should come in. I did.

Paid $120 for a partial bag.

    Contents:

    117.00 in half dollars
.90 in dimes, quarters, and nickels

    Of the halves:
    11 Franklin halves
    2 1964 Kennedy halves
    8 40% Kennedy halves
1 1988-S Kennedy PROOF half (not so proof any more)

.... so the silver was 8.97% of all half dollars. Way cool. I made about $165 profit on an investment of $120. I can live with that.

    Trash:
    One batting cage token
    One car wash token

    Foreign
    1 old Mexico peso - 1971
1 10 peso coin, Dominican Republic

Speaking of Albums I have decided to junk these Whitman cardboard things.. Not to take the thread off here, but are Dansco Albums good? I was looking at the Half one last night for about $25 and that included proofs.. Thinking about buying one. Do they 'snap (halves don't snap in btw) in'??

    TIA

And in the process of deciding what albums I needed I forgot I had a blank quarter one with 24 Barbers in it.. made my day!

Before anyone decides to poke some fun.. it was '94 since I have opened them up.. (some of them)

Honestly I'm a real cheap bugger...lol So I didn't get Whitman or Dansco anything...I really have no budget being a college student and only being collecting for a little over a month.

I found a site that sells all types of supplies and got 2 albums that are simply called The Coin Collector

Like I said it has a spot for every jefferson nickel from 1938 to 2002, including all 3 mints for each year and proofs. You can see both sides of the coins and you just gently push the coin into the nickel sized hole. It's held in place by two thin plastic sliders on the front and back.

All the albums are only $5 each....yeah....I'm soooo cheap lol They work totally fine for me though

I had a good silver day today:

    1/2 a box from a bank: Skunk
    1 CWR from another bank: 1 1964 Kennedy and 1 1945 Walker :D :)

Then I went to my coin club and won a 1889 Morgan Dollar as a door prize.

    :D

After one box of nickels, I found:

*Two War Nickels (both were 1943-P)
*17 early Jeffersons, oldest was 1941
*Five Canadian and one Bermudan nickel
*A 1917 Buffalo (Date was very readable!)

Um, if you're taking 'em to TD to cash in, you can state you're losing money every time you cash in and they'll do an adjustment after their pick-up company recounts everything.

I was just wondering what the total amount of coins you guys have looked through is. I would say I've probably looked through $150 in pennies and $5500 in halves. For the people who have been here a while and search often, I bet your numbers are crazy.
