are most roll searchers looking for silver or are they trying to fill folders? I myself just look for silver when doing halves but am filling folders with all other coins!

I've been getting nickels and quarters to fill some albums; I doubt I could get any silver at my local bank. They never have any halves, and one time they even mentioned someone had just asked for all of them. It could be a coincidence, but almost every roll I get is marked and the few unmarked rolls are the only ones with anything interesting. I'm thinking it's someone's dump bank, so I'm going to try another bank tomorrow.

Take every roll you can get, even if it's marked. I've had numerous occasions where I received marked rolls that contain silver. Sometimes tellers will mark the rolls when they sell them to the vault and other times they have to put the account number on the rolls and of course cross it off before they are sold back to customers.

I've gone through $5000 worth without finding anything worth keeping before. The ones that are marked are ones people mark to see if they are getting back their own dumps. I've never done it, but I'm fairly small time (box a week or so) compared to some I've read about. Searching halves can take some patience, that's for sure.

I just got through my weekly 2 boxes. When we were leaving, the teller who gets me the boxes asked if I wanted 3 extra rolls because someone had ordered 2 boxes also and he only had $970, so he had taken 3 rolls out. I had $30 in my pocket because I was also going to get a box of pennies, but I decided to buy them. They were BWR so I wasn't expecting much. There was 1 silver per roll, a 64, 66, and 68. So now I am wondering if I took most of the silver from that guys box, or if he had a monster box? Anyways here are the results from my boxes.

    Box 1 : 0 90%, 3 40% - first relatively bad box i've had, also first with 0 90%
Box 2 : 1 90%, 10 40%, also found a 1986 commemorative half with statue of liberty on front, anybody find one of these before?

    Also 10 total 2002- NIFC

Scored a $343 bag of halves today and had some strange results with it.

Someone had dumped several roles of NIFC's.

I pulled 30 40%ers from $310 in CWR today on a quick roadtrip. Awesome results, made it more than worthwhile!

40 rolls of cents. 30 CWR and 10 BWR. About 25% copper. Only three wheats (oldest 1919s) and one Georgie (1950) all found in BWR.

I havent' had much luck at all with CWR as far as older stuff is concerned. If people take the time to roll them, they are going to notice Wheats and such.

I agree with this, in general. The lone exception for me was that my only IHC (Super-worn and barely identifiable) was in a CWR. So was my 1999 WAM, but who's gonna notice that besides a collector?
