09-O.... that's like the 05-O half, hideously tough!

    That's purty Mike!

    Nice piece!

    Super tough date.

    Au & Ms:
Nice piece, and nice die chip at the date.
This is the only year where that die chip is regularly found, in different dies.

  10. It might be just me, but that '11-s looks better than a 64!

You can say that again. That coin is ridiculously nice. For those that don't know much about Barber Quarters, do yourself a favor and see if you can find a 1909-O with more eye appeal than the one shown here. Don't worry though, with a scant population of 35/14 in MS64, you won't have much to look through.

    That coin ROCKS!

    Here's a coupla newps.

The 1907 is a nice, simple, original look. It's not a spectacle; it's a nice, original coin.

Personally, I question the "blast white mania". Those coins have been dipped. That's not a bad thing, and certainly not unethical.

    But it's certainly not original.

    Thanks !

I just realized my comments above might be construed as a negative comment on other coins in this thread. Not so ! My bad. This thread is loaded with gorgeous coins.

It's a bit surprising how tough it is to find really nice Barbers, particularly halves. These babies were "born to run"... they minted 'em and put 'em in circulation. True workhorses, these Barbers. For their high mintages, there aren't as many nice ones as one might think. Even proofs can be kinda crummy sometimes.

Agreed, many nice pieces here, and that 1909 O?

Try to find it in any grade, above AG.

    Tough, tough.

    Nice looking 15-D Half, Ben.

I have put together a nice AU 55-58 set
and some of the 58's I call AU 64 ! Its hard
to tell the difference on many 58's & 64's !!
