The fascination or obsession in the Anglo-Saxon world, when it comes to all things nazi, probably has something to do with WW2 being the last war where pretty much the entire world agreed that what they did was the right thing to do. Later wars were either part of the East-West conflict (Korea, Vietnam) or disputed in some other way. And whoever made those medals - these are not coins - knew that there was a market for them. Whether you really badly want a Hitler coin because you despise his regime and the atrocities it was responsible for, or whether you buy it because you support the ideology, does not really matter to those who sell such cr*p ... as long as they can sell it.

actually he was horrible. it was said assassinating Hitler would have prolonged the war.
had he not foolishly invaded Russia, we may have never won.

His balls were too big for his head, that was his issue... but in terms of what he managed to do until he decided to attack Russia, things went well, no?

With a little bit of naturalness, is simple to criticize his "inhumane" acts. However, people should acknowledge his tremendous mentality to create and manage a significant quantity of things. (Even U.S.A. stole ideas from him.)
Back to the main subject...I never saw that commemorative coin. The design is not of my gusto, but it is passable as a commemorative.

Look at it this way, no matter how bad he was there is something to be said for his actions. He was an incredible tactition as Merc said. One man led an army to take over a huge exspanse of already militarily occupied land. I don't care if he was the devil himself, that is impressive.

Also people obviously think what he did was impressive, remember a little movie called Star Wars? Well look at the storm troopers of the Empire...bring up any familiar pictures? Yes there was a documentary actually saying that the idea was from Nazi Germany. Does that make Star Wars an awful movie? I think not. He was a terrible, terrible man, but he was a military genius of sorts.

Commemorating Hitler as a man...extremely distasteful and very diserespectful. Commemorating Hitler for his military achievements...understandable if his character was not a factor.

I am not defending him at all, but I do appreciate history very much, especially when it comes to war.
