I'm new here and I was wondering if anyone has seen an Adolf Hittler Commermemative coin that is as large as a sliver dollar. I was also wondering if it is worth hanning on to or should I just pass it on for the sliver?

I`ve seen them and had some and also Mussolini coins, they are Fantasy coins.
Neither dictator had their mugshots on real coins.
I believe they were white metal rather than real silver.
They sold for around £30 on eBay.uk

http://usmbooks.com/hitler_coin.html I have done some serching and this is what I have found. It was given to my wife by her garnmother many years ago. It very heavy and has tow deep scratches on it, one one the front and one on the back. We were thinking of selling it for the silver or the collecting value.

please post a pic. there will be a market for it some where. wouldnt like to think who would want it though

EDIT: after seeing the pic that is sick. why would you want to commemorate one one the most evil people ever to have lived? my advice would be to have it melted and quickly. infact that coin would still be illegal in some countries

The Neo Nazi`s and Italian Fascists buy them, also members of Combat 18

I wouldn't be so quick to judge Hitler as the ultimate figure to avoid. I find Hitler as reprehensible as anyone, but coins of Genghis Khan are collected, as well as many other leader who slaughtered millions of innocent people. Heck, Stalin and Mao were much larger killers than Hitler, and their faces still appear on items. Does everyone here have the same disgust of their items?

Yes, a Hitler coin is reprehensible and he should not be honored by any human, but that list does not stop with him. I have never understood the US and Europe's view that Hitler was the worst human in history. Was he a despicable, evil human being? Yeah, but there were many before him, some during his time, and a few since just as evil and deserving of our scorn and condemnation.

The "story" that this dealer tells on that page, in order to promote his medals, is bogus. And the Hitler-Schröder parallel he attempts to draw is quite insulting. But why would he care as long as he has a "good" story to sell his trash ...

I was reading on another forums and some dealers mentioned how they would never have any nazi coins/memorabilia in their display cases....well one dealer said that he knew a Jewish dealer who didn't have any problem selling such items, his thought was Hitler would roll over in his grave if he knew a Jew was making money off of him. Guess it was his way of slapping Hitler in the face...everyone has their own way of thinking I guess.

Really? Mao killed over 50 million Chinese, he is not such a bad guy? Ghengis Khan would slaughter every living being in a city, so that the city streets would be slick with fat from the dead for a hundred years, and he was Mr. Sensitive? Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Armenian genocide, the list goes on and on. I would say Hitler may be the third largest killer in history, but that isn't certain.

I am REALLY not defending the guy, he is scum, and I completely agree with every negative thing ever said about him. I am just wondering where this idea that he is the ONLY or THE WORST human EVER comes from. He is a terrible, evil man, but there are many more as well. To me, Stalin at 30-40 million and Mao at 50 million dead puts them right up there with Hitler, and no one talks much about reprehensible a picture of them would be.

EDIT: I am done, and was not trying to be political. My only point was why weren't people as upset at other pictures as much as Hitler. I was just curious. To me, I hope they are all enjoying their eternal tortures in hell equally, as that is where all of them belong.

You guys are getting way too political here.

Hitler was a horrible human, but excellent military tactician. There's something to be said for taking over most of Europe.

That's true. I'm not defending him, but I find WWII extremely fascinating, and that is a very impressive feat IMO.

Yeah, I have a book that details the troop movements in Europe through the war... fascinating thing to look at.
