My coin club is putting on a money show event that's supposed to be a huge and very special event especially since it's my first super coin show. Hope to see y'all there! Come and enjoy a smaller city ambiance with the best in sales of paper currency, gold and silver coins and even a few class room opportunities!! The dates will be March 17-19th this year!! http://www.nationalmoneyshow.com/index.php?id=119 http://www.pcgs.com/articles/article_view.chtml?artid=6676&universeid=313 http://www.sacvalcc.org/
Cool, I was gonna work there on behalf of my coin club but I got way too much on my plate so I'll probably just hang out there as it's a big show in these parts. Anyone else?
I'll be there. I'm also enrolled in the 3 day ANA course being offerred Mon. - Wed. before the show. I hope to meet you other CT'rs as well.
Yeah, I'll be there too. It sounds like it will be a great show. It will be the largest show that I've attended. I'm already getting my want list together. -LTB
I started out thinking the same thing... it's going to be around a 6 hour or so drive for me (not counting any L.A. traffic). But then I figured it's an ANA show which doesn't happen within driving distance too often. I also then justified it because I've never been to Sacramento so I'll get to see the capital. Also, compared to many other ANA cities, hotels around Sacramento are dirt cheap as long as you are not staying right at the convention center. I'm driving anyways so I can stay a few miles away for a fraction of the cost. Also, while I'm up north I can visit some friends up that way. So, after initially dismissing the long drive just for a coin show, it seems to make a lot of sense to go for it. Also, it appears that I'll get to meet some of the CoinTalkers who don't go to the SoCal shows!
I wish I could go. I was a member of the host club the last time they held the ANA in Sacramento. That was the single busiest coin show I've ever seen, helped in no small part by the fact that the Statehood quarter series had just started. From the ANA website: "In 1999, the ANA National Money Show in Sacramento set the standard for ANA spring conventions, attracting nearly 10,000 visitors in three days. " I will vouch for that. I worked the club table for two days, and by the time the show closed, I barely had time to sit down. We never saw our show chairman at a meeting again. BTW, if you're within driving distance and have the chance to go, go. It's worth it.
I've never been to an ANA show before, but am thinking of going. Can I expect a decent amount of paper money to check out, or is this likely to be 99% coins and a couple $1ea shoeboxes of notes in the corner? Dave
There will be plenty of greenbacks there, Heritage and PCGS are supposed to be there and tons of other vendors. check out the links, up there! :thumb:
I will be at table 905. Also have a table the preshow this weekend and am teaching the ANA photography course on Mon and Tues.
See ya there! This is gonna be a huge show, hopefully some of you collectors can make it by for some fun, education, and history!! Our last show in 1999 set a numbers record for attendance. Let's do it again!!
Me too I am going to be there too! I just booked my tickets from Seattle to be at this show. This is the largest show I will be attending so far. I am really excited about this show. I really hope it's worth the time and money I have spent to be in Sacramento
Hope to run into some of y'all there at the show! It should be a big show, lots of excitement here in Sacramento, especially since we just had a show last weekend. Of course this one will be bigger and better!! Heritage, ANA and PCGS will all be there and even tho it was raining yesterday it's clearing up real nicely today. Oh, I forgot something. As you know it's gonna be St Patrick's day and this town likes to party as well as any other. The link is to a park on Jst and 10th, a small block and a half away. Be there or be square, or just go to the coin show and that would be good too! http://events.sacbee.com/sacramento-ca/events/show/166932605-st-patricks-day-party-in-the-park
I should have scrolled down before I posted athread about this ANA show. I'll be there on Friday only as I want to visit a friend out of town. I hope to see some of you CTers there on Friday. I've got to do some research to see which coins I want to uprade or just outright buy. Anyone who's going to be there on Friday can PM me and maybe we can meet up. Bruce
Change of plans...I'll be there on Friday and early on Sat. as I'm picking up a new (for me) dog to take home. I expect to see some of CoinTalk represented here. Bruce
