I received this unc FS Gold Buchanan coin from the mint and there seems to be a problem in the bottom half of the "N" in FINE. The metal actually slants down on the bottom of the N and to the naked eye and right light, it is shiny, not dark. I'm not exactly sure what this is called, if this is indeed an 'error' and/or if it should be sent back. I'm not used to seeing things like this. Can anyone 'shed some light' on what this is? Thank you in advance! >---->R
isn't the Buchannon the coronet large cent design? I'd love to see pics of the obverse! Sorry, but I don't know what the anomaly is on your coin.
There is metal missing - the N is not fully formed. I have a couple of non hi-res photos I am attaching below. The obverse seems to be fine.
If it's an error, it could be worth more than the regular issue. I would wait to send it back until you find out more. What's the window of return?
